The Official 2024 NFL Season Thread

If anyone is watching the Cowboys /Falcons game, that last play call on 4th down is how you know the coach is about to be fired.
Jerry isn't firing McCarthy unless they just go completely off the rails. He will just let him ride out the season and not get a new contract like he shoukd have done with Dak. Jerry is a jackass.

Saints fire Dennis Allen and I am looking forward to seeing my Falcons SWEEP them in New Orleans.

Good thing they fired the fall guy

Dude could have retired after 2022 a career Packer, a consensus top 8 QB of all time and 4 time MVP winner with a Super Bowl and hundreds of million dollars.

Instead he couldn't handle the Packers not waiting for him to decide what to do, strong-armed his way into the Jets because he knew he could run that organization and now the New York based media is going to hold him accountable for this debacle for eternity. What a freaking moron.

I’m very happy I can relax at Icehouse after a long work day at Texas Roadhouse, watch the Sunday Night Football game that is Lions at the Texans.

Also, eat this delicious thick pepperoni pizza.

An impressive comeback victory for the Motor City Lions.
Goff is being mellow for celebration, however it’s more emotion than Coach Belichick who was constantly as stoic on the sidelines as a Terminator.

It doesn’t happen often because here is a stat for how rare it is for a team to win with these 2 numerical flaws.

As a Cowboys fan since the 70's, they should just let Trey Lance play QB rest of season.

Cooper Rush has mailed it in just as much as Mike McCarthy has, go 5-12 and get a RB with a top 10 draft pick.

I do think he goofed, but a big part of me suspects that GB wanted him to strongarm, and they acted accordingly.

I'm on his side. McCarthy is a joke and so is the FO. Trade me to Detroit

I agree that the FO and ownership is absolutely a joke, but what he said about McCarthy is totally out of line and shows how immature he is.

IDK, I do agree that he's immature in some ways. I don't like all the podcasting and talking about other teams when your house isn't in order....

But what did he actually say about McCarthy? He said he's not worried about his future and that Martin has given more to the Cowboys, which is 100% true. McCarthy has given them sweat for 5 years. Martin has given them blood, sweat, and tears for 11 years. Martin's about to be done as a player. McCarthy can get another job coaching if he wants to (although with NFL HC probably out of the question).

He was asked about McCarthy and said he was sadder for players. I take it as maybe a little bit of a dig, but I think it's mostly just a players love players thing.

Come on man, the quote is pretty clear he was dissing McCarthy. You can say something like "You know that's above my pay grade. I don't make decisions about the coaching staff. Right now, I'm focusing on getting better for guys like Zack Martin, who I love..." etc. He specifically made a point to diss McCarthy or show he doesn't care if he's the head coach or not.
