The Official 2025 March Madness Discussion Thread

You assume he sent pictures or stalked. What if it was less than that, a lot less ? Grounds for the wife to be mad. Sure. Fireable? I can't get there without knowing ANY actual details.
Those are the two things being alleged, and you said if consensual he maybe shouldn’t be fired. Do you think if he sent pictures of his genitals to a bunch of college girls, but that it was consensual, the girls were actually way into it, that he should’ve been fired, yes or no?

Legal things aside, that's just perverted. He's married for God's sake. Messed up

Yes

I'm not claiming to know what happened.

I'm just saying other people don't either.
So your theory as to why he has been accused by multiple women of harassment and stalking in a formal title ix complaint, corroborated by independent local reporting? And are you comfortable enough with whatever this alternative theory is to think it’s a good idea for this man to coach young men? And to feel good about cheering for him?

Florida looked at the roster and made a business decision, it is what it is. Hopefully their multiple coaches with allegations will take advantage of the second chance.

Reasonable inferences... or speculation you'd like to be true so you can be dismissive of a rival's success?
You call that speculation? Seriously?

The decision was that the conduct “wasn’t within a university program or activity.” It wasn’t that it totally said he didn’t do it. That’s the investigation within Title 9. Don’t be obtuse.

Well that’s good. What standard of proof would need to be satisfied in your eyes to show that he’d sent these things?
Some people have nothing better to do than post negative comments man. Don't stoop to his level. Make use of that ignore button. Let's talk about the basketball

Eh he’s a Florida fan on a Tennessee forum. If he wants to spend the hours after his team wins the national title defending their pervert coach, that’s his prerogative. I don’t cheer for a pervert coach so it doesn’t tear me up

It doesn't help your image to argue with him either tho

Sucks. We can’t even get in the FF 🥲
We working on it. It took Gonzaga 20 something years once they started consistently making the tournament and then doing good.

We have always been a football school. I can say with confidence that narrative has changed, tho. Serious players now look at us as a school serious about basketball.

I'd say we are now what you/they might call a "New Blood" program.
We've now had back to back elite 8 runs/ demonstrated a consistent level of success over multiple seasons, and we have gained national attention/become a household name in college basketball.

Be patient my friend, our time is coming🍊💪

Honestly, I would have thought that if there were pics and text messages as reported there'd have been some corroboration by now. It doesn't make a lot of sense that such allegations would be made and just fade away after the Title IX concluded. Wouldn't the aggrieved parties seek criminal charges or sue ?

If nothing else, if there were like 3 or 4 such women, none of them release any of it?? None of it ?

It causes me to hesitate before believing it. I could be wrong. But it's odd.

You think these women would be treated well around campus if their identities became public knowledge after accusing the coach of the very successful basketball team of sexual harassment?

Again, I’m not saying there’s enough reason to throw Golden in jail. It seems obvious he shouldn’t be coaching the basketball team though. As VolGee4 pointed out, the school’s own investigation didn’t clear him but just said it wasn’t in the scope of his employment with the school

Well said. But let’s also appreciate how really good the Vols are in Baseball. Won it all last year and have reloaded. CTV will just keep winning and winning. And I’m here for it.

How do you just not get a shot up
If you go back and watch Florida players sniffed out they were going for the win and blitzed/jumped out on all of Houston's 3 point shooters.

The question that should be asked is if they were necessarily going to go for a 3 and the win, why not fake it like you going for the two and the tie and then sling/kick it to the open 3- point shooter?

Not being "cleared" doesn't seem like a fair standard or sufficient reason to fire him. If that were the case, the accusations alone would be enough to doom any coach or other employee.

At the end the Houston player had not dribbled before going up in the air. After letting go of the ball i think he could have grabbed it or start dribbling it off the bounce.
Once he jumped in the air to take a shot, he either had to shoot it in the air or pass it while in the air.
His letting go of the ball and then touching it before another person would basically be a pass to himself and that's not allowed. He would've been better off just shooting it at that point, try not to get out of the way and hope the FL guy hit him but he had the shot setup all he had to do was pump fake and the FL guy would've flown past him and he had the option shot

If the school thinks more likely than not he acted inappropriately with those girls, then he should’ve been fired. From what we know, it seems more likely than not. I assume if the school or Golden knew more, they’d have said so rather than ducking behind the precise language of title ix to say he just didn’t do it on the job. You’re going to justify whatever Florida did though clearly, so ✌️
