Saint John’s has a young team that was going through growing pains in their first March Madness Tournament which along with only making 2 threes made it more likely to lose to Arkansas.
Credit to the Razorbacks for not imploding during the adversity of the final 5 minutes, and also finding ways to close a challenging game instead of choke.
Based on what I saw today, Tennessee is better offensively than St. Johns. I wouldn't suggest Lanier have a game like their star player did, but if he did Tennessee at least has some other things to lean on.
Kudos to Cal and the Hogs. Resurrected the season after a horrendous start. Got them playing at a much higher level at a good time. Might be his best coaching job in a long time.
His one and done system at Ky grew stale and obviously no longer work in today’s college basketball. But before that he almost always had his team ready come tournament time
The whole flaw of Saint John’s having that offensive flaw can’t continue to be be overcome vs better quality teams that are far better in offensive efficiency as in 40th or higher.
Tennessee is better than St. John's defensively as well, despite the hype. People will focus on Arkansas being 2-19 from 3. But, they were 25-46 from 2. That's 54%
