I hate to say this, but they have an amazing coach. That's got a lot to do with it.

In just 6 years at Bama he's already been to 2 Sweet 16s, a FF, and (at least) an EE.

Tournament is all about matchups. Bama got a good draw for them again. It tastes like acid typing this, but sometime a good road is the result of you just being real freakin good and being equipped to play any style against anyone (and being good enough to railroad teams that play a similar style as you do). Bama is just that. Maybe if some NBA team sometime soon throws the bank at Oats, we will be lucky enough that Bama hires a doofus and goes back to being mediocre.

As long as he’s there, though, they’re going to be in the mix for a deep run every season unfortunately. Love him or hate him (I lean heavily towards the latter), the guy is a hell of a basketball coach.

I’ll stop short of saying a fix is in, but I’m sure a lot of folks are hoping for that. For someone who isn’t really behind a single team and is just watching for the love of the game (probably quite of a few folks like that out there), that would be quite the storyline.

With that being said, I think Tech sends the Hogs home.

Please enlighten us as to what BYU has ever done in basketball....And tell us about their great basketball tradition. I guess BYU is a Blueblood and I missed the memo.

Arkansas stomping KY again would be the only thing that would take some of the sting out of KY beating us a 3rd time. Albeit, it would only be like taking one quill out of a full porcupine quilling.
Kentucky would much rather lose to us than Cal.

Maryland is a very good team and probably the best 4 seed in the tournament, but Florida is elite when they aren’t killing themselves with turnovers, just ask Alabama who Florida handled easily twice this season. Also all the distractions with their coach probably isn’t helping.
