The pitcher should’ve never thrown the pitch. You can’t f&$k up a more routine ground ball than that.

Pitchers throw pitches to batters until the game is finished. The goal is to give up as few runs as possible.

The error should not have happend and it could have avoided given up 1 more run but everything else is speculation.

They are very beatable, that's for sure. We just have played arguably some of our worst baseball all season at a time you just can't afford to do so against arms like Rucker and Leiter. I would feel pretty good about our chances against them in a post-season series. We've just stepped on our own feet all weekend with some poor approaches at the plate and some costly errors. Hard to expect your team to beat a guy like Leiter if you spot their lineup 3 runs because of a routine ground ball you sail wide.

That’s not new to this weekend. We’ve been making those mistakes all year. They just didn’t cost us games against lesser teams.
