Normally, it might take you a couple innings to get a feel for what the pitcher is trying to do if you hadn’t scouted him very much. But when the pitcher comes in throwing similar speed and, somewhat, the same approach as the other 2 starters for Vandy, it gets easier to jump on him early. I think you’ll start to see the Vols harp on that fastball later in the game to force Reilly to use his Slider that he has been struggling with consistently in the past. Work the counts and get some runners on the base path, and I think we’ll see some fireworks later on, once the Vols get a better feel for his approach.
