The Official #3 Tennessee vs. Syracuse Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, ESPN

I'm trying to watch the replay via ESPN app but its only 49 min long and starts at the beginning of 2nd half. Anyone have a fix or alternative?

The losing team doesn't dribble out the clock though. It wasn't a classy move by Dubar, but it's also not the end of the world.

Eh. I don’t mind it. If the losing team can try and score a very late garbage time bucket to pad their stats, I’ll give Dubar a pass.

Syracuse Game Notes

Nice win to cover the point spread and congratulations to Grant Hurst for scoring 4 points.

This, not that big of a deal, but don’t think it’s what Barnes wanted to see. Don’t think Dubar is gonna get chewed out over it but probably a, hey we don’t need that there.
Second end of game hiccup. He also had those fakes at a drive last game.

I feel like you're being disingenuous. Teams that are losing in the final moments of games, even in blowouts, do not dribble out the clock. They try to score until the final buzzer. I think it's a stretch to think what Syracuse did tonight was any more than that, and it's an even bigger stretch to say it was for the sake of stat padding.

Seems like we agree that Dubar's offense was not a big deal. However, I have less than 0 doubt that this forum would be raising hell if an opponent did the same to us; that's as close to a certainty as anything.

That element exists at VolNation? Certainly not… 🤙🏼

I don’t think we’re disagreeing about whether or not it’s a big deal. Some may have raised hell on here, but this board raises hell about everything, so that’s not saying much.

I very much understand that the losing team is allowed to do whatever they want, which is a silly concept when you sit and think about it.

You're saying you think it makes more sense for a team that's getting blown out to concede their last few possessions instead of staying competitive? I 100% disagree. I get that you're saying it's a futile effort, but it makes infinitely more sense to try to score than roll over. Have you ever seen UT dribble out the clock in a loss? I certainly don't recall; that's something I would remember.

We are so good at so many sports. Baseball #1 of course, football in the playoffs, men's basketball #3 in the country, Lady Vol basketball not ranked but some people are starting to talk about them. We'll see soon whether they might be legit or not...but overall we are a threat in almost every sport. Danny White was good choice it seems thus far.

I guess I just view the Dubar situation no different than when Heupel continues to run his offense when we’re up 3+ touchdowns with the backups in.

I saw someone say what Dubar did was classless and I personally disagree. We had the back end of our bench in for the final 4 minutes of the game. If Syracuse is going to try and dunk on Phillips with less than 10 seconds left I have no issue with Dubar and the backups putting one up, too.

I also wouldn’t have had a problem with it if he chose to dribble it out. I just don’t see it as being classless.

Where’s mah damn Miami Game thread, @YankeeVol ? 🤣

“Fans can catch Tuesday's game between the Volunteers (8-0) and Hurricanes (3-6) on ESPN. Dan Shulman (play-by-play), Jay Bilas (analyst) 🤮 and Jess Sims (reporter) will have the call.

Fans can also listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate to hear Bob Kesling and Steve Hamer describing the action.” -utsports.com

I sure don't see this being a 16 pt win, but then again that's why I don't bet on these.

i'm expecting something around Vols 84 Miami 73
