The Official #4 Tennessee vs #1 Arkansas Weekend Game Thread (Game 1 Friday @ 6:30 PM) (Game 2 Saturday @ 12 PM) (Game 3 Sunday @ 1 PM)

UT’s Pitching did a great job last night ! Missed a few key opportunities but had some great battles at the same time.
Arkansas made several great plays.
Tenneessee hit several shots that were caught!
Our D played great, had one cross up that cost us. One extra base .
Hundley set us up for the weekend!

Going to be a BATTLE!!! Can’t wait.

My hope was 1 and I did think we played pretty good...the 2 leadoff doubles without getting a run was disappointing but LOBs has been an issue all year...we went round for round with #1 and with 50 pitches I doubt we see Kopps again this weekend.

He threw 111 last week in 2 outings vs UGA. If it’s a game on Sunday he’ll be in there.

I was really encouraged by how well we were able to get the bats going early on. That's a good sign for today. I also was very impressed with the amount of discipline our guys had with Kopps last night. As you said, they went round and round with him, especially Luc. The Arkansas media and fans said afterwards that it was the hardest Kopps has had to work so far. As for his availability, as much as I'd like for us not to see him again, I wouldn't be surprised he makes an appearance tomorrow in some capacity. DVH used him last week in two games of the Georgia series and he threw something like 100 pitches. So, we'll see.

I think we will do well today. Our guys have always been great in resetting and bouncing back from a loss. I hope Will has a solid pitching performance today, and that Jordan's dingers clear the track and wall. He came close multiple times yesterday.

GBO! Let's get it done.

Just quote me if you want to chime in.
Just to be clear, the guy is a great college pitcher. It’s a 56 game schedule so you don’t have to be all that durable and can get away with throwing ‘curves and sliders’ 80% of the time. But at the next level it won’t work, it’s 162 games and junk ballers that end up on the shelf aren’t a high commodity in the MLB.

Van Horn knows this but he doesn’t care.
FWIW, the Marlins and Blue Jays scouts were near me. Of the pitchers, they were taking footage of Dallas, Hunley, Kopps and some Wicklander. The Marlins guy did more on Dallas than any other.

All those guys will get their shot at the next level for sure
