The Official #4 Tennessee vs #15 Kentucky Game Thread, Saturday 4:00 PM EST/CBS

There is nothing to complain about with the officials. I’m not upset with how they called the game. I’m just pointing out that it’s been an incredibly physical performance by Kentucky and they realistically could have been called for more fouls, but I’m sure we got a way with a few as well so it’s fine.
I don't disagree at all, and my post was certainly not directed at you. You're very reasonable and level headed imo.

Fools gold with Tennessee? This announcer is pissing me off. The person who says we probably won't get a one seed is probably on to something, if ESPN is any indication.
that seems to be the pundit narrative about TN. Wasn't that exactly what the espn halftime guy said too? someone be circulating talking points

The ref whining is comical. It's 11-6 in our favor, yet some act like every sliver of contact is a foul on UK, and the Vols have never once in their 100+ year history ever committed a foul.
It’s every game. Officiating can impact a game but such is life in sports. It’s been that way from day one.

The “whining” is because 3 of the 6 UK blocks were body shots before the block, which allowed momentum for Uk. I’m sorry if that is hard to understand when you are talking about game that could game down to 1 possession at the end lol
AIdoo is doing the same thing. Knocked a guy out of bounds on one of his blocks.

James and ZZ need to come out hot..
James and Vescovi look like they are scared to shoot right now. It’s looks like Vescovi is hesitating during his shot.. I mean when have you seen him airball from the corner to the left of the basket

I really hate this “fool’s gold” ****. We score 80 points a game, DK averages 21. We have won games with him scoring 10 or less.

Is Sears at Bama fool’s gold too? Broome at Auburn? Hubbard or Tolu at Mississippi State?

Having a generational scorer on a team built on defense & unselfish play being twisted into some sort of negative is ridiculous.

Vescovi and James both with 0 pts. If they each only scored 2 we would be tied right now.

If refs are going to allow UK to mug knecht, if I we're barnes, I'd bring out my biggest players and a bench player with the sole purpose of really hard fouling of UK immediately in second half. You can't allow knecht to get beat on a whole game and UK should have some bruises 1 min into second half.

It's so low baskeball IQ for these whiners. They are allowing one on one defensive contact for both teams. They are only calling fouls when you beat your man to the spot and that's why DK has shot most of the free throws in this game. He is so crafty.
Not low IQ in my opinion. Just fans being fans. Happens on every forum in the country.

The guys on ESPN made the SAME "fool's gold" comment about Tennessee at the half against South Carolina.

You can just feel the collective sports media blue bloods scrambling all over each other to undercut Tennessee.
Who cares though, it’s better than the media constantly telling you how great you are. TN knows they are good, let the media say otherwise

Yes it was. The CBS guy said he had been talking to other SEC coaches though, could definitely see Oats saying that lol

Maybe the rim on the other end of the court will not be so tight. Seemed to work k well for Kentucky long range

I agree that TN has gotten away with 1-2 as well. Just saying it should be called. The difference is where the ball has went after the blocks. the post block ball has favored UK

Aidoo has to be a factor this half for TN to win. Hopefully he will Go up strong!! If it’s blocked then it’s blocked, but go up for a the dunk.

Also Santi and JJJ need to help.

Houston has played 5, top 25 teams

Tennessee has played 10

(double count of teams were ranked both times when they were played )

SEC has been tough this year plus that front end of our schedule was tough.

It's like some have never watched a whole season of bball before, but I know they have. You have to expect multiple bad calls/missed calls every game. Some are more egregious than others, and this one is not on the egregious side so far.
