The Official #5 Tennessee @ Georgia Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ESPN2

That is not why they gave those seats to the students, they literally designed the arena around students sitting there in an effort to create a hostile environment. It’s a separate section so they don’t piss off the old people behind them who want them to sit down. Sight lines aren’t impacted.
The whole reason they can do that is that the old people weren’t interested enough in those seats to lay the money down for them. They didn’t pay the money down for the seats that they did get, as evidenced by the attendance numbers.

Demand fluctuates with a good product. You aren’t going to throw 100 million down for a new arena and design it with students in mind if all you care about is the almighty dollar. The secondary market prices are ridiculous there now.

Replayed the final few minutes and did not realize how close we came to losing ZZ again when their big guy undercut both legs on the play where they tried to give the ball to GA. Fortunately almost from the back. ZZ was on the floor before the ball hit the floor OOB and should have been a foul call. GO take a peek..... They allowed full body contact on our offensive end pretty much the whole game and only quit calling touch fouls on theirs after Coach let them have it several times. Had he not we could have never closed ground.

AT 25 seconds go check out the throat smash that took Aidoo to the floor by the same Big....

I thought Barnes did a good job working the refs.

They fell short of selling out in 2019 when they made the Final Four or in the next year. They didn't sell out when they earned a #1 seed in 1999, either. The demand simply hasn't been there, so they had a good reason to gamble on giving away the highest value seats in an attempt to create an atmosphere that could drive demand. We don't have that problem.

There is no downside to having the most hostile home court advantage in basketball. They could easily sell those seats now, but they won’t.

Auburn is a far cry from the most hostile home court advantage in basketball. They have a hot ticket at the moment but no indication that there is any staying power (is any of that increased price going to the university or is it all absorbed in the secondary market?). Plus they had a different problem to solve when they were building their arena from when we were building ours.

Who has a more hostile arena right now? It’s the toughest in the conference and the Bud is 2nd. I thought it was silly at first, but they got it right. Truly intimidating place to play.

When they quit trying to get the early 3 and trying to bleed the clock it changed their rhythm.
Exactly, that's when I posted in this thread UGAs going to choke, they started playing tight and playing not to lose vs as you said not taking the early looks that they were taking earlier in the game. As someone that has watched a lot of games this had a UGA choke written all over it. Sometimes teams do milk it down and win but it is a recipe for choke.

Someone posted in another forum that Doug Shows actually stepped in 2 times when the other 2 officials made terrible calls. It looked like they might give him a technical, Shows saw they were poor calls, and got everyone to move along. Respect to him if he did that.

Last year, the only year they sold out, they had four home losses, including to Arkansas and Memphis. They've yet to face the meat of the SEC this year. Whatever feeling the fans have, the opposing team is this far unaffected.

Was always a bit surprised they went from 10,500 to 9,200 when they built the new one. Easier to capture the noise in an arena that size. Like to know the cubic footage in FCC VS AU facility.

Yeah, that SOB fouled 3 of our guys on that play & they had to replay to just give us possession.

Obviously there were too many terrible turnovers the first 30 min of the game. He locked down on both ends for the last 10. Got to the line at critical moments down the stretch. Stopping the clock within the game was critical in the last 3.
at least two of Z's turnovers weren't on him. I remember twice he passed the ball to where a teammate was supposed to go but didn't.
