The Official #5 Tennessee @ Georgia Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ESPN2

I wouldn't delve too deeply into that because neither of us is an expert in acoustics, which is an extremely complicated field.
You don’t need to be an expert. Simply enroll in engineering fundamentals 152 down at UT next fall and you’ll be well on your way.

The last thing I’ll say on the topic, you may not be aware, but before we moved the students behind both baskets, we actually had more students in the lower bowl seats (sections 124/125 iirc). The change ended up shoving more overflow students into the upper bowl which is unfortunate. So the AD in turn actually got to sell more lower bowl tickets.

Engineering 152 apparently didn't teach anything about the difference between "size" and "amplitude". It doesn't necessarily make a difference on the floor, anyway, all that student section noise couldn't help Auburn against Arkansas last year, despite them getting blown out at Thompson Boling by a team with no point guard. If you're more interested in getting the *feel* that you get at Auburn Arena, though, you won't get that at TBA. The Celtics are undefeated at TD Garden this year, and that's the place that best matches to TBA in my mind.

I didn't miss a home game when I lived in Knoxville, and played in the pep band for four years through the renovations. I never had anything against sitting in the cheap seats, though. I watched Dane hit those surprise threes against Memphis from up in the upper deck bleachers. Thank goodness we replaced them with seats, and thank goodness we replaced the orange seats with black and put in the theater lighting. TBA is the size of Rupp and the Dean Dome but it feels more like a real event when you're there, because the floor stands out against the fans (a lot like Madison Square Garden, with better sight lines).
