The Official #5 Tennessee @ Texas A&M Weekend Series Thread (Game 1 Saturday @ 3PM) (Game 2 Saturday @ 5PM) (Game 3 Sunday @ 1PM)

I wouldn’t say it worked. I’d say it lost game 2 because he wasn’t available. At 6-1 I think you have to go with another arm for at least the 8th inning so he isn’t burned for game 2. If that arm falters bring him in quickly but a 6-1 lead with 6 outs and a full bullpen should have been easy without burning anyone
I see both sides. Ya have a chance to win one on the road in this league, lock it up.

I don’t disagree with anything you are saying and my only suggestion would be win game 1. I would also say I think it’s a little whacked to think he’s burnt after 17 pitches on o DH’er day. I understand what your saying, I do, it’s valid, I understand I just think yer not gonna blow his arm out, but I’m a noob and in CFA I trust.

That’s a good way to look at it. I just hope our pitching and Blade more especially have a good outing. It has really struggled the past few Sundays. That’s my main concern.

Last 3 Sundays? The guy left the Florida game with a 6-3 lead and in line for the win. We lost 7-6. Pretty sure he left the Vandy game down 3-2 and we lost 10-4. He got the win against Bama. That’s the last 3 Sundays. You guys are tough on our catchers and now our pitchers.

Our starters and our pen has been solid but this isn’t the Big 10 it’s the SEC and the SEC hits 1 through 9.

I hadnt seen the pitch count so that’s iffy I agree on him being burned. 2 innings however seems like too many for another appearance 4 hours later imo

You’d think he’d pitched in game 2 if they thought he was available

I agree.

Solid against Vandy for 2 days but depth was needed Sunday. If we had Leath and Joyce (2 big league arms in the pen) it’s a different series. Maybe Leath starts and Tidwell is in the pen. Either way we would have a guy late in the game to shut the door on any lineup. 2 guys down there if Joyce was healthy. Those injuries changed our team but we are still really good.

I firmly believe what kind of game we see tomorrow from Tidwell is going to tell us a lot about what kind of chances there are for long post season run. If he continues to fade and show he’s hitting the wall a little that’s a major concern going forward.

That’s a legit question. Can I ask one of you?

I’d like to see AJ having the luxury of playing on turf. Like 66 said, splitting hairs....is AJ still playing? He may have sniffed AAA for a few games if I recall and I remember him hitting pretty well once he got out of the bunt happy offense he had in college
