90+ is definitely the benchmark, I would agree with you. But, there are always exceptions. Kyle Hendricks would be one. If he was in college now, I doubt he would get a second look with an 86-88 fastball. Same for Maddux

Looking back through the gameday posts it cracks me up that many UT fans are so conditioned by bad football and sports in general that they have to find something to complain about even when our baseball boys are doing well. 90% of the regulars in here contribute good discussion. But, what gets me is the number of drive by fans that NEVER, NEVER post in the baseball forum until we lose or something bad happens in a game. They literally take time out of their day to login to this forum just to take a shot at the team or the program. Sad.

That’s my rant for today. Now let’s go take a series! GBO!

Oh I agree with you 100%. There’s zero doubt that the game has changed vastly since the days of the location/movement mid-80s guys...my point to the original chat was that top teams today have multiple guys, if not most of their arms throwing in the 90s...we don’t. I hope it doesn’t, but I have a feeling that it’s going to bite us come postseason

We have had 3 losses that have really hurt ,
Georgia loss , Florida loss and this one... I think we should have won all 3. Ol well. On to tomorrow... we have a great baseball team but unfortunately they aren’t going to play perfect. We are 11-6 with a chance to leave Texas 12-6 in SEC play. So let’s regroup and win the series... Blade Tidwell will be lights out tomorrow!! Calling it ... he’s due to be on!!! Go Vols...

Gotta take it one game at a time. This team is really good. We struggle with pitching at times and there are injuries. I wish we had a better view of home plate with a pitching box like pros because way too many pitches yesterday looked below the knees. Since I don't have a fair view, have to trust the ump and react to the faces of the batters when they get thrown a dirt ball. Best medicine for a bad (lost at the end when had 3 run lead) is to go back out there and play better than them, overcome the officiating and score more runs than they do. Go Vols....this is a good forum and enjoy the Vol Nation comments.

I agree. With only 20 rounds this year my guess is we have several free agent signees
