Tennessee shot numerous shots just short, even FTs. Lack of confidence, focus or mental energy, I don’t know but the opportunity to stay in the game early was there. The players just didn’t get it done.Let's give Houston a little credit
Felix & Estrella & Cade we will be stronger inside presence with a year in the weight room. There are multiple great mid-major 1-2&3s out there for the taking. The one thing I think limits Barnes he looks for great players that are good citizens, where Pearl & Golden don't care if their thugs or what just play and we will do your schoolwork, nobody gets academically purged anymore anyway it's a don't want to hurt feelings vibe on college campus the new America. So who do we have left for next year? Cade? Boswell?
We went one game farther than chalk in the SEC tournament and stayed on chalk in the NCAA. Pretty decent for a team playing in, by far, the best conference and a preseason rank of 12. Maybe Barnes best coaching job here considering the cast of characters. Lots of heart and energy with adequate talent, but not great talentIf you are a 2 seed, the guys that do this for a living say you're a max E8 team. Thats, were we finished. If you are a 1 seed you are a F4 team that's where all the 1 seed finished, really nothing surprising all chalk.
When the best players from all the Mids. portal every year to the blue bloods just start expecting more chalk. It sets up an environment where there will be virtually no upsets, because the great mid player doesn't have to sit a year to go to a blue blood and he gets big bucks. The amazing part of the NCAAs unknown is slowly slipping away to the money players. It is what it is. I'm still watching for now.
