Rick Barnes needs to speak his mind like never before about the travesty that took place. People need to get banned from officiating college basketball ever again. Point blank period
Estrella did a rlly good job on Edey. His first meaningful mins this year and he performed well.Glad that FREAK show is over. Awaka did a good job otherwise there was nobody defending Lurch. Aidoo started the game by missing his first 4 shots, fumbled the ball out of bounds on offense twice and gave up 3 layups to Eady. He was a complete zero. Great game for DK he tried to carry them, just too heavy today. It was a pleasure watching him play this year.
Yep, just like Charles said, that drought right before the half can cost you the game. Likely did.We had a few possessions around the 4 min mark to take the lead couldn't hit a shot. I think we had a six minute and two four min droughts that hurt us. The one prior to the half may have been the difference.
I thought JJJ should’ve got not more looks in the second half but we had opportunities.
I said before the game to let Edey get his and contain the Purdue guards. We did that but came up short.
This is a tough loss as I thought we’d cut down the nets. And I love Knecht, JJJ, and Santi; though I’ve been critical of them at times.
Go Vols!!
It seems like it wins basketball games better/easier than a lot of other schemes and styles…probably because having such can dominate both in regards of rebounds as well as dramatically improve inside the paint scoring (generally a higher percentage means of scoring than perimeter) all through 1 player. It is clear we need a dominant big man.
Those two droughts we had and the refs did us in. Insane to think Edey only called for one foul with all of the moving screens, over the backs and of course my favorite 3 seconds in the lane. Great season though and very entertaining.
Why would the NCAA ban officials for following instructions? Edey has been officiated as if he’s made of glass all season. That’s what the NCAA and Big Ten wanted. If anything, the officials from today’s game may get a behind closed doors tongue lashing for letting the game be as close as it was.
Yup, Perdue was able to take advantage of our weaknesses when it counted. Our bigs were serviceable against most of our opponents; but they couldn’t dominate a game whenever the outside game was off.Our guards and weak inside play cost us this game, and just about every game they lost this year. They have to upgrade there. Vescovi forgot how to shoot. James went 2/3rds of the year cold on offense.. No one clear guy to run offense through on the inside hurt us too.. Missed a lot of free throws too when you need to make the easy ones. Good team. Came up short. Inconsistency finally caught up to them.
All of them he short arms or is clearly not confident. He looks as scared as I would be taking a shot out there.
As has been pointed out several times early in the season "the Vols go as Aidoo goes". When he sucks, they lose.Glad that FREAK show is over. Awaka did a good job otherwise there was nobody defending Lurch. Aidoo started the game by missing his first 4 shots, fumbled the ball out of bounds on offense twice and gave up 3 layups to Eady.
