Hell yes I’m serious - just watch. We are better than Purdue. We just had an absolutely horrible stretch - and survived it. AND we are getting a decent whistle despite the gnashing on here- Purdue gonna start panicking and blow up. Our depth is going to help too.
AND- we are going to be shooting on our end of the floor - this is going to help too.

Purdue is well coached and will not panic. I’m not concerned about the whistle as players play through adversity and can’t get caught up in the calls or no calls. But we don’t have depth as Santi and Aidoo aren’t providing anything. Santi is still sick. You can see the look on his face as he still has the flu.

Rick did the deer in the headlights and waited to use his TO. You see how quick Painter used a TO after back to back 3s by Knecht that took it from 5 to 11 in 30 seconds. He then frew up an easy layup for loyer. Don't let facts hurt your feelings

My only feeling is that Rick has never really used timeouts like that and lets his kids play through because he doesn't coach fragile kids. We are built on defense and toughness. 20 minutes left 2 point game I like our odds

Yeah, I posted a comment on a previous thread. They changed the rule yrs ago.

The count to “three” stops and resets if the player in the lane catches the ball in the lane and makes a move to the goal. Or, the count is suspended and reset if player is in lane for two seconds but makes a move towards outside of the lane. Hope that makes sense.

I do prefer the old days but….they changed it supposedly for safety.
IIRC, it had something to do with reducing the number of collisions in the paint as the player was rushing to get out of the lane.

And all those variables make it virtually impossible to call so they just don’t.

Go with ZZ, Awaka, Knecht, JJJ, and Mashack. Then let Gainey sub in for the guards and Aidoo for a few min when Edey comes out.

Mashack and Awaka MUST stay out of foul trouble. Let Edey get his. He had about 8-10
from foul line. Stop fouling.

It's impossible to not foul. Edey is clearing out with his off arm almost every time. I have no idea why they NEVER call it?

Gonna need someone else to step up on offense, hopefully a bit better effort defensively. Just force them to eat clock to get it to Edey. I don’t think he alone can beat us.

I counted Smith and Layor had 6 clean drives to the basket. Our guards have to fight through their picks and stay in front. Need to extend our defense 3 more feet IMO. Our all American is going to have to have a 35+ game for us to pull this out as we’re getting nothing from the 5. GO VOLS - you can do it guys!
