The Official #6 Tennessee @ #1Auburn Game Thread, 8:30 PM ET, ESPN

Really didn’t like that final call at the end of the game. Ziegler is not and never has been a guy you design that shot for, least of all at the end of the game. There was plenty of time and we were down 2. Ziegler taking an off balance 3 with time left is never a good shot.

I would want the ball in Ziegler’s hands there but not shooting that shot.
Our best player, who is cold-blooded, took it and we crashed the boards. I have nothing wrong with it.

Chaz mistimed his jump on crashing the board by like half a second.

I actually like the aggressiveness of Barnes there with that call.
Yep. Gave multiple chances for score/foul. I have no problem with it at all. I hate that it didn’t fall and our guys weren’t able to get the rebound, but there’s no shame in losing this game. Much better performance on the road. Went toe to toe with #1 on their court with all their players.

Well we’ve never made one so it’s kind of ridiculous to demand it.

It’s fine to have it as an aspiration but y’all have gotta quit trying to make that the standard when we’ve literally NEVER DONE IT BEFORE.

Also if he doesn’t make one you‘ll probably not live to see one anyway.

He is a generational coach for us and you’ll learn it soon enough just like Texas fans did.
I don't demand s***, but thanks

Well, you can’t be anything but proud of the team tonight. They fought their guts out against the best team in the country and just barely came up short. I’m very proud of the effort and heart that they showed. It’s not hard to accept a loss when this kind of effort is made, unlike the Florida game.

So disheartening .

I love the Vols and Coach Barnes. But he won’t win a natty. I don’t see him getting to a final four, unfortunately.
Yeah because losing to the #1 team in America on their court while having to overcome terrible officiating definitely means Barnes won’t win a natty.

God, we have some basketball-stupid fans.

This was our first true road game vs a top team since Florida. I was worried about a performance closer to Florida game than what we got tonight.

I think we can pump the brakes on the hot takes we aren’t a top tier team in the country.
Time will tell. We must win on the road. This was a good game but hurts as we had it. I hate to say it but the moment looked too big once again as we choked. Give Auburn credit and hats off to ZZ and Okpara for batting.

Chaz was inconsistent and Igor is lost.

I love Barnes but his teams does that have more than 1 shooter that can get you points. You can have the best defense in the world but you got to be able to score points at the same time.
There are 352 D1 basketball teams. That’s almost 3 times as many football teams and way more competitive. I’d say he’s doing pretty good. I know you’re not totally down on him but just perspective.

Not a good look. Rushed and had 9 seconds to get at least 2. Rushing that shot was not ideal.
It was about the most open we've seen all night from the 3 point line. They absolutely harassed us the whole game. I'm fine with that shot. What I'm not fine with is not figuring out a way to close it out when you have a 4 point lead in the closing minutes of the game.

And the refs the last two minutes. Obvious missed calls on Broome.

Why are we questioning the last shot? Our best player took it, and it was a great look. He just missed it.
Bc he was 4-14 from the floor and 0-5 from 3. That’s my reasoning . We had 1 guy available that had hit a 3 all game and if we’re gonna play to win I want it to be Lanier .
