Well, you can’t be anything but proud of the team tonight. They fought their guts out against the best team in the country and just barely came up short. I’m very proud of the effort and heart that they showed. It’s not hard to accept a loss when this kind of effort is made, unlike the Florida game.

Exactly. But many of our fans will use this to rip on Barnes and the program. Wish they’d take a flying leap.

Felix held his own and they was letting Broome over the back and push him out of the way.

He wasn’t physical enough imo. Had moments defensively but overall didn’t box out consistently and was too upright when Broome started backing him down.

I seriously don't think that was the shot. It looked like Barnes drew up a pop out. We still had a chance with an offensive rebound.

The game was lost when we couldn't grab defensive rebounds late.

Bc he was 4-14 from the floor and 0-5 from 3. That’s my reasoning . We had 1 guy available that had hit a 3 all game and if we’re gonna play to win I want it to be Lanier .

And he would have never gotten a clean look in those final seconds. They would have been draped all over him.

I mean admiral asked for ball and ran up and dunked vs UK with 1 sec left with Barnes

Pearl had a fun team to watch at UT i was young but would make my day to watch every game with JP Prince, Chism, Lofton, Bradshaw, Crews, Childress, i wouldn't remember their names if it wasn't the best times ever. Can't think of that many names on an older modern vols team ever since

Why on earth was the play out of a timeout a rushed, contested 3 ball ? Why

It was an open look. When you are behind it also gives you a chance for an offensive rebound with time still on clock. If we were tied we take that shot much later. I'm fine with the play call. Just missed it. Zeigler played great. He needed some help tonight. For a team with no NBA talent on the roster, we have flaws and are what we are, but still a very good team.

He's also our 2nd worst outside shooter on the team and was 0-5 before that miss

Chaz mistimed his jump on crashing the board by like half a second.

I actually like the aggressiveness of Barnes there with that call.

If he makes it were up 1 and auburn and the refs have 8 or 9 seconds to win it back

We win that game with Gainey not being sick.....might have won it anyway if he didn't fould out due to 2-3 bogus calls. I'm F'ing disgusted right now. The biased officiating for Auburn and especially Broome is awful. League games are too important to get this level of incompetence by SEC refs.

He’s absolute scum and I hate everything about him and how he conducted himself here. Auburn can have him and that trash he recruits.

Remember, this is the same media that defended Hurley and his clown self earlier today on Gameday.
They go for the Jerry Springer-type behavior in players and coaches. It sells. Integrity doesn’t.

I would usually agree, but nobody else could hit the broad side of a barn. Without Z tonight we'd have been toast.

I have said it before Igor will definitely rebound for you but his outside shot is horrible. He kind of just pushes it up there. Obviously Barnes is not going to let Dubar have any minutes to get comfortable in a game. TN will not win the big game if they cannot get a second or third shooter. Gainey could be one of them. Please quit taking Dubar out if he makes a mistake. If that was the case, everyone would constantly come out.

Thats not why we lost. We lost because ZZ was our only real threat of getting points.The last shot he should have not taken, he had missed all his 3 pointers and shot it as soon as he touched it like we only had 1 second left

He might be cold blooded, but it’s not like he’s a shooter or has any track record of hitting shots like that in that situation. He isn’t Lamonte Turner.

And he's the only reason we were even in the game. He's capable of making that shot. Lanier can't create his own shot , and that's what you have been relying on.

I love Barnes but his teams does that have more than 1 shooter that can get you points. You can have the best defense in the world but you got to be able to score points at the same time.
