The Official #6 Tennessee @ #1Auburn Game Thread, 8:30 PM ET, ESPN

The ultimate was crying over the Mashack call where he was behind him, wrapped his arms around him and pulled him to the floor - thought it was a jump ball. What an idiot
Baker-Mazara is and has been a real prince of a fellow. Just a great role model for Auburn. Broome is a great player, but a jerk and taunts the opposition after every score. Caldwell is the same. Pearl is like a pit bull on steroids. Just a bunch of badly behaved individuals with that clan on the plains.

Broome did to Felix what I thought Igor got a technical for last week. Of course the official was looking right at him.

They let them play even more in the tourney. Did you watch the Duke game w years ago.

Yes I was there. While Duke came out of that game worn down, it was more to do with the fact we had 22/23 year olds going against 18/19 year olds that really showed the difference on the court. Cry baby from Duke got pushed around, but we simply wore them down due to sheer body maturity.

We are 18-3 with 11 games remaining. I don’t think we will contest for the SEC so it’s about seeding for the dance. I can see us splitting with KY and then split Bama and LSU or aTm.

KY
FL
Mizz
@Oklahoma
@KY
Vanderbilt
@ aTM
@ LSU
Bama
@ Ole Miss
USCjr
26-6 is where we finish. That might be good enough for that last 1 seed.

Also, the narrative the entire week afterwards was that we played football. Dusty May and Jay Bilas set it up. Officials called it tighter as a result, and Vlad Golden flopped multiple times.

Barnes is right though- they better not change the way they officiate in March.

Vols have dropped 3 conference games mostly because their offense is shat.

Not going to disagree with you, the offense has been maddening at times, yet again... but in all fairness those 3 losses were to 2 top 5 teams on the road, and a Vanderbilt team on the road who very well may be ranked next week. This conference is just absolutely brutal this year. Between this and the close losses by the Lady Vols... ugh, just so frustrating

Saying they blew it is pretty disrespectful. They fought hard and just didn’t go our way in a very hostile environment. Last play was set up well. Grab on our player not called. #1 team on their court .
I don't think it's disrespectful. I respect the fight and intensity of the guys. I think the players would agree that they had the game in hand and blew it or let it get away, etc. But to each their own. All good 👍

Broome had 1 foul ...... 1 damn foul....
He was barely moving on defense. It’s absurd we didn’t go at him every play considering we were in the bonus half the game. Not to mention the fact almost every screen set on him he would have to drop down because he couldn’t risk getting drove on with the ankle.

That would be an excellent finish with or without a 1 seed.

Been thinking about the game this morning and while no one likes a loss, the Vols took Auburn to literally the final seconds with a chance to win at the end - Auburn the #1 team in the country. Not a moral victory though. Road wins are tough to come by in the SEC.

Vols are a really good basketball team! Go Vols.

I think it will get ugly, but I'm hoping we can show some fight and keep it respectable. Said elsewhere that I'll be curious to see if any of our guys wilt under the pressure. If guys like Lanier and Igor show out, it bodes well for the rest of the season.
Welp. I think some questions were answered. Maybe those two will adjust to the challenges of this league as the season wears on. If they do find the answers, we can have a deep run in March. If not...well...we've seen this movie before. Overall a great effort last night. Far better than this old eeyore expected. Nothing to be ashamed of considering our very limited roster and the refs Jekyll and Hyde act.

conference IS brutal! On any given Tuesday or Wednesday night, the top 25 SEC matchups are "saturday prime time worthy". We are better than I thought we'd be going into the season, and think we'll probably end up w/ 6-7 losses. Have to figure out how to score more in non-home arenas b/c you never know how refs will call the tourney. I doubt refs will call the tourney like they did last nights game...though I liked them allowing the physical play.

4 blocks

It was a hard fought loss. Nothing to be ashamed of. I had this as a loss in the line of the next 4 games. We can easily win our next 3 and get back into the SEC race. Here in 3 weeks we will be 20-3 and 7-3 in the SEC. I really don’t think we are losing at home. We are a totally different team at home this year.
We have 3 losses in the SEC and Auburn has 0. We’re probably out of it because it’s hard to find 3 losses on Auburn’s remaining schedule. I just hope Alabama doesn’t win it to break our 2nd place tie all-time. At this point, I’m fine with Auburn winning it. I’m more concerned about what we’re gonna do in March.
