That's because this team is Jekyll and Hyde on offense. They have to stop with the cold starts at the first start to the halves or it's going to be a short tournament season.
They can fix that and we will be really hard to beat.

I think we did but I’m not sure how matchup dependent that is.

To his credit Gainey came on strong in the last 6 minutes. Big part of us winning for sure.

Gave the players the opportunity for success. That's what a great coach does, but can't execute it. Doing it over and over and over and over in practice is the key

Barnes used his timeouts well today. I thought maybe we could have called one with 47 seconds left after we went up 72-67 so that A&M wouldn’t get such an easy sprint down the court for a layup again, but other than that the fact we used 2 timeouts in the final minute was rare and also extremely helpful.

But what did you think about the refs and their love of Am and the commentators?

I thought the in-game commentators were decent. I appreciate commentators who don't feel obligated to always agree with the refs. There were 3 times where the 1 pointed out bad calls and on one correct call he didn't like, he changed his opinion when he saw the replay.

None of these on/off calibrated rankings are perfect. There will always be outliers you gotta use common sense to disregard.

They are pretty good in aggregate, just not super precise.

Cardwell is overrated due to his lineup impact and rotation for the top team in the country.

Basically, Auburn is a lot better with him on the floor. That doesn’t mean he is a great player though

Yes, match up wise against A&M. Igor just couldn't match up against A&M athleticism. Still a good player, but not today against this team. Coach Barnes and staff knew the adjustments needed to get the DUB today
