The Official #6 Tennessee @ Texas A&M Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN

Frustrating that A&M has exactly TWO players you have to game plan for….TWO….and we let them score 52 between the two of them. For a defensive minded team like us, I’m not sure how that is possible. Make literally anyone else beat you.
Yep and we didn't change how we defended them the entire game. They owned us.

I am going to start scouting for a team I'd be ok with winning the entire thing. It won't be this one.

This is what I don't understand. But to those two player's credit they hit some 3s early on and made some tough layups as the clock was expiring. Still though, we have to do better defending drives to the basket, especially by our bigs.

Wanted to chew Adams in front of everybody. Making a point for the next game that he calls.
This crew should never call another game.

Not calling the T was the worst non call I have ever seen in my life in 50 years of watching CBB and I’ve seen a bunch of bad missed calls.

If you can see the coach to give him the timeout then you can see him to call the T. They could have called the T anytime during the timeout. Just plan terrible ref job.

The crowd has not given Texas AM a good look. Booing extremely obvious fouls on Texas AM, oooing and awing everytime a ball handler reversed his dribble for some reason, now that. Did the air ball chant with Z which I always hate but also I don’t even recall him airballing (I could be wrong about that one) Clearly not a basketball school
Not a football school either.

Took it specifically to talk to Adams about something. Sending him a little message too. He’s not forgetting what Adams is doing.

I’m honestly surprised Barnes didn’t take the opportunity around the two or three minute mark when it was clear the game was over to really give Pat the business and pick up a couple of techs to head to the locker room early.

The officiating was far from our biggest issue tonight, but seems like there is always a highly questionable call (or two or three or more) that go against us when Pat Adams is present. Barnes obviously recognizes it.

I disagree.
Agree to disagree then. Last year team made the sweet 16 and struggled to put 60 points on the board. Return the most important guys from that S16 team and add honestly the best player in the country. Tennessee wasn’t gonna go undefeated and run the guantlet. Gonna be nights like this. It’s how they respond is important

A&M was picked 2nd in preseason SEC poll behind Tennessee. They are legit, just haven’t uncorked like they did tonight. Granted we played flat with the exception of ZZ and Mashack, the officiating was one-sided. They are still allowing the bigger, physical teams rough us up. It’s like it’s our payback for our physical teams a few years back.

For whatever reason A&M at home is a bad matchup
Had a bad feeling about this game when I saw it on the schedule. We have the ranking and teams get fired up to play us-- and we come out lukewarm and lose. It happened with SC and AM. We aren't the only team with that dilemma-- watched Auburn do it today, Kentucky stunk at Rupp again, etc.

They made a few other bad or missed calls. The jump ball that they gave A&M a timeout.

Nah more humiliating calling it with 11 seconds to go to chew him out. That way everyone realized why he was calling the timeout.

DK looked tired from the beginning but he was also fouled every time he touched the ball.

JJJ had zero effort.

Vescovi is either trying to hard or playing scared. He needs to play with more confidence.

ZZ was our best player with consistent effort.

Aidoo just doesn’t have the toughness to play inside.

Vols fan in Aggieland. I am honestly surprised this team was not ready to play tonight. The Aggies are good, but not great, yet they still played the game of their life tovight. Hopefully, things will de different in two weeks.
