The Official #7 Tennessee vs. #2 Purdue Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN

Every time I watch Zach Edey I am told by announcers how good he supposedly is but all he does is camp in the lane and never get a 3 second call. If he wasn’t the literal embodiment of a tree he would suck. He has no jump shot or any other tool.
He can only get away with that in college. When they face a team with a jump shooting big, he will get exposed.

And all Shaq did was dunk. You utilize your strengths. The goal isn't to make it harder for yourself to prove you can do something else.

Tough loss but November tournament games don’t mean a lot in March. Learn and improve over the next month should be the goal. I look forward to the conference games.

I’m not sure Purdue will but I definitely think we can. We put a lot of minutes on young guys in a final four type of game. This TN team is tough and has the fight that we wish the football team would have. Mark my words, we go farther than Purdue in the tourney.
The shoulder into Awaka's was not a foul on him.

Purdue isn’t the number 2 team in the country. They have one player that literally has the biggest impact on any team in the country and not even close. Reason no one will pick them to win it all.
When ZZ and Santi hit their stride. It’s gonna be FUN to watch.
If you watched any other Purdue game. Raiders this one your take would be different.

Barnes shouldn't have went with both Vescovi and Zeigler over Mashack. I'm not sure if he was saving Mashack for defense because he knew the front court was heavy in fouls and the game is moving to fast for the freshmen to come in but hated that. Knecht got exposed a little tonight. He's weak in the gaps and struggles with physical guards. Hope this was a lesson. He'll get better.

Pleasantly surprised right now. I don't care who disagrees but Tennessee beats this Purdue team by double digits with a healthy Zeigler and a half way decent Vescovi. With those two rolling, Tennessee is the best team I've seen this season. We have a legit shot in March. Barnes has a team capable of playing any style and forcing an ugly game from even the most fundamental teams.we check every box for a deep run in March. We'll see another physical and ugly game tomorrow against either Self or Smart. Really excited about this season.

Since every armchair coach is giving their opinion, I think that what cost us the game is the fact that we were in the double bonus with 12+ mins left, but did not attack the basket. You have to draw up screens that allow our guards to take it to the hoop and draw fouls. Use the refs to your advantage by forcing them to call fouls.
Love the technical on Barnes...showed he was bought in for his team. Wish Heupel would learn to do the same...

This is it exactly. When I cool off and get some sleep, I’m rewatching this one just to count through the possessions he’s camped out.

It’s a better game and an even footing if they just did that much.
