Still in awe of how wrong I was about Jordan Gainey. Not sure how good this team would be if we didn’t grab him and Knecht in the portal. They are injecting a lot of offense into this team right now when some of our veterans are still getting comfortable.

He is really good. Already better than Key was.

Disagree. The gap between quality mid-majors and Power 5 teams is closing every year. Just look around the league tonight. Syracuse is down 16 to Colgate. Florida struggling with 0-2 Florida A&M (up 10 right now). This is a better Wofford team then our fans will want to admit.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t be playing better, but I just don’t think it’s a warning sign by any means.

For decades we had never had a 16 seed beat a 1 in the tournament.

that’s happened in 2 of the last 5 tournaments now.

The Gainey pickup might just be as big as the Knecht signing. Gainey gives you a secondary scorer, so you are not just relying on Knecht to score the ball to win.

He’s always been a bit too unselfish. Still think he is also trying to get comfortable with the new faces. He missed both exhibitions so I think there is a degree of rust he is trying to knock off.

We’ll need him and Zeiglar to figure things out by conference play and be their old selves again if we want to reach our goals.

Same. I thought taking him was a mistake and just a favor to dad. How wrong I was. Kid is a baller and he has a better handle than I thought. With Freddie going down, that makes him even more valuable. Great get from the portal. Kid is smart, too.
