Exactly the discussion I was thinking about when I posted. At the time, we had Uros, so the comment made some sense. But, we don’t really have a brute anymore - our low post focuses on positioning and quickness.Bilas started it when the Vols beat his Dookies. You know word gets around to the zebras
Right. I wasn’t saying he wasn’t good or wasn’t good here, or wouldn’t have been good here. I was listing him as an exception to the guys that “usually” don’t end up being SEC type players when they leave here.BHH actually showed a ton of promise and was playing with lots of energy toward the end of that season. Just got bad advice and transferred to a dumpster fire. Could’ve been really good here I think.
The message is, “ pick your poison “. No one is going to completely shut down these very talented players. You devise a game plan to limit the strengths of your opponent. Sometimes the shots fall, even though the team isn’t good 3 point shooters.I hate the let them shoot game plans. Got us waxed against A&M. Giving up multiple tonight, just don’t think it’s a great idea in todays game where everyone shoots the deep ball even if their % isn’t good.
Gainey either shoots a quality 3 or puts his head down and drives to the basket. Out of control sometimes but this is the way you play SEC basketball. Huge improvement in his game since he arrived.Good road win. The only complaint is that Vescovi has lost his mojo right now but Gainey has taken his place. I just wish they could both be going at the same time--especially during the tournament.
