If you haven't read the post-game quotes, their coach spoke of having a mini camp of sorts ahead of UT and likely was the reason for improved play versus UT.

Just finished watching the game. Obviously we didn’t play nearly as well as we have been. But the thing that surprised me the most about this game is that Upstate was 0-7

Shooting 50% from 3 and sinking 9 of them, they won't be winless for long
