The Official #9 Tennessee vs. Austin Peay Game Thread, 5:00 PM ET, SEC Network+

I feel like some of this was over looking Peay ahead of Florida. In the second half on defense I feel like the coaches saw we were not going to blow them out but were comfortable enough with what lead they did have and used it as an opportunity to get some guys some experience. I saw some guys I have not heard of. That being said there is no excuse to not at least impose your will on this school by pounding the rock. There is no planet where they should be able to stop our run game. Passing game aside we should have been able to blow them out even with Milton passing for 230 and 2 tds.

Going to have to have a QB other than Milton or it will be a long, bad year.
Hate to say it because I am really pulling for Joe; but he didn’t carry this team on his shoulders the way Hooker did. Milton seems to be a great QB when things are going well; but he doesn’t seem to pull the team up when things are down

So you think this was a typically called Josh Heupel game? Really? Did we see this dull of an offense against UVA? Have we ever seen Heupel call a game this unhurried and bland? Ever?
Nothing I've seen this year has resembled last year's offense. But again we should have took AP to the woodshed today. We didn't execute at all and most of it was our fault.

Check my stats. I’ve been here forever.
That effort by Tennessee tonight was PATHETIC. We play the way we did tonight and we will get absolutely slaughtered in the swamp. I still believe in Heup but he is going to have to light into some folks this week. Again….this was AUSTIN PEAY.
I will agree with you that we played awful, actually “pathetic” was a great way to express our gameplay, but Florida is a total different opponent and I think we will play them completely different as well. I don’t think we took AP very serious and it shows with how well they did against us, but I truly believe we will play UP against Florida because that’s truly when the season begins for us. Heup will get these boys fired up for that.

I had us at 8-4 but 7-5 seems more likely given how the OL and Milton have played. Still scared to death when I think about our secondary.

Their QB exposed our secondary to the tune of 260 yards. Austin Peay. Unless somebody wants to tell me our defense was playing vanilla coverage tonight.

Guys, I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe we're as bad as the score says. I believe we'll be ok. I have to believe this game was a sleep walk. I'm sure you guys will reply with some smart ass ****, but We'll find out definitively next week. Go Vols!
No fair being rational. The ultimate litmus test for a fan is whether they sell moral losses but deny the existence of moral victories. Next week it is.

Honestly, he made like three good throws in the Orange Bowl and largely wasn’t that good in that game either. If Clemsons kicker could make a field goal or Klubnik could play that’s a different game.
I totally disagree with that, but Milton has been over-hyped. He is not the guy to lead this offense.

Mercifully, the game is over.
30-13 looks better than 23-13.
I had to listen to the game, but it sounds like they ran sort of a vanilla game plan. AP tried everything they could and used up clock.
Sounds like the officials made some bad calls.
Either way, the Vols had better get their heads and their butts wired together, or they’ll get embarrassed next weekend. Florida is having their feel-good game tonight and they’ll have all sorts of motivation for next week.

No cuz a brilliant coach 24 hours ago everyone trusted now has a pocket of Karen’s who think he’s all the sudden clueless and doesn’t know exactly what’s going on. Ya’ll need to have a Sam Adam’s and relax and stop acting like every top ten team sails in every game. It’s a process. Trust our coach.
He was absolutely clueless TODAY. You're blind.
