What a pair they were together. Great music that'll never be duplicated.

Each fed off the other. Jerry gave Layne the confidence boost he needed in songwriting/playing guitar and Layne gave him the same in regards to Jerry's singing.

Their voices were so different but came together in an epic way.

I carried the newspaper clipping of Layne's obituary in my wallet for years.

All of this....Nirvana had nothing on Layne and AIC. It wasn't even close and Layne's voice sealed it.

Yep....he had his eyes closed alot of the time. Still made a few mistakes even with the lyrics in front of him.

Couldn't remember, its been a while since I've seen it. I listen to at least song from that album pretty much every day.

I have the album on my computer. People say it's depressing music but I'll listen to it while I'm working out.

Nutshell, Down in a hole and Would are my favs but the whole album is great.

Nutshell is freaking unbelievable. So is Sludge Factory...and What the Hell Have I...and....

Might as well put a plug in here for Mad Season, too. I really enjoyed that album.

The rock radio station here in town wears "Rooster" out. That being said I still really enjoy listening to that song. Any version. What are y'all's thoughts about Rooster. Over played? Over rated?

No way. I always love hearing it on the radio. Probably the most played AIC song I hear on the radio. I kinda think Man In The Box is the one that's overplayed/overrated.

I love Rooster and Man In The Box but the radio station here in town plays them waaaayyy too much. I hate that they play them that much because to me it makes them overplayed. Neither song to me is over rated though.

love AIC. seen em 3 times with layne and once without. duvall holds his own. no one will ever be able to replace layne. thankfully cantrell is a damn good singer in his own right. he wrote a ton of their music anyway...

I remember seein them '06 in myrtle beach at the house of blues and not expecting much since they got some dude to replace layne staley. That show ended up being one of the best shows I've ever gone to.

I love "old" AiC but I give DuVall props, their last album is excellent I believe. LS is definitely not replacable but DuVall IMHO is about as good as you're going to get.

I'm just bummed I missed them last time they were in Nashville.

I like the new album. No one will ever be as good as Layne but the music is good enough for me. So much garbage that's come out nowadays it's nice to hear AIC again.
