Guys,
I have lived in 37919 for the past 2.5 years, but I grew up in and around Norman/Tulsa/Okla City, and have attended over 100 Sooners games. Lived there as recently as 2010, and our family still has season tickets and donates.
I have come to enjoy the Vols as my "second" favorite team. We like attending the games at Neyland, and look very much forward to a day when the Vols are competitive with the best teams in the nation.
That all said, unless there is something very, very unexpected boiling under the surface of the water in Norman, and doing so very quietly - Bob Stoops is simply not coming here. He has a daughter in early high school, twin sons in middle school, just completed a 5 million dollar house (in Oklahoma dollars, equivalent to about 7 million here), has won 10 or more games virtually every season, and gets to do whatever he wants because he has a Saban-like deal at OU.
The sports media in OKC/Norman is all-OU, all-the-time, and if something was going to go down, our relatives would already be quite up in arms about it. News is much leakier there, it's a small community, and we always knew what was going on inside the AD. One of our friends is a high ranking administrator at OU, and as of this morning, he knows nothing at all about this.
Is there some tiny chance that Bob has decided that he will fly the coop without even telling the OU AD about it beforehand? I suppose that could happen, but it seems very unlikely that no one would know about it in sports-media land.
I'd love to see a Stoops here, but it's not going to be the one that would have to take a step down in both prestige and pay to make the move. Now Mike, the older brother, would be a realistic possibility.
Not a Negavol, nor a SoonerShiner, just being realistic.

Neither is Stoops.
There were rumors that Hart was talking to Gundy. You guys must just love disappointment. Don't forget to start the Muschamp, Saban, Richt, and Urban Meyer threads.
Stoops is realistic, he supposedly has been ready to get out of Norman and back into the SEC. He's been there 14 yrs, guarantee things are getting stale. This is much more realistic than Gruden, and Gruden was possible.
