Well…a lot to learn from and improve on. BC outplayed us as a visitor. Not sure we are close to last year’s team. Piss poor base running, bunt play, and hitting.

BC is not a bad team, but TN didn't deserve to be in that game much less win it with all the just stupid mistakes. You run on the squeeze you win that game, you actually wait and tag from the very start on that fly ball you likely win. You don't let the second basemen back peddling 30 feet into the outfield call off center fielder you win that game. Every opportunity and just didn't take it. Far from the end of the world just a mid-week game but have to clean that stuff up

Ball game. You can put this one on base running. It’s like free throws in basketball. If you don’t run the bases well then it will end up biting you. Hopefully they get a crash course on it this week.

Agreed but we tossed some pretty good BP at times tonight, too.

Deserved L. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Pitching obviously wasn’t great but we lost this game between the ears tonight. Mental blunders left and right. Gotta clean that up. Too much talent on this team to play like that.

Even with the pitching, we still win with average base running. That was unacceptable imo and I’m sure Tony feels the same way.

Gave it away.... Have a feeling this team kinda living off last years success approaching games... We look solid against scrubs so far but not so good against solid teams.... This team is talented but wasn't locked in tonight

Yep unacceptable to lose this game. Kind of worried about our pitching mid week. We had blade Tidwell couple years ago as a starter mid week lol. We were spoiled.

That bunt wasn’t to get the runner on first. It was to get the runner home from third. He just chose not to run. It was a good call and a good bunt.

Like I said, I hate bunts unless you are a track star. The guy at third didn't feel like he was able to make it home in time.

I hate losing.

Absolutely…BC did what they had to do to win

They sent a scout to the game 2 weeks ago to start preparations. They threw their Friday ACE to start the game and threw all their big arms from the bullpen. Safe to say they really wanted this win.... and we still should have beat them.

It's one game in a season. Losses happen. You learn from what you did wrong and move on. The sky is not falling. The hand wringing and panic are pointless. Lot of coachable moments in this game, spots TV and his staff can point to and say, "This is what you did wrong".

My fear is base running stupidity will become to the baseball team what “4 minute scoring droughts“ have become to the basketball team. The difference between winning and losing and something that seems to constantly haunt us. I’ve watched every baseball game for the last 2 1/2 years and this has been a consistent problem. Last year’s team could overcome it with hitting. I’m afraid this year’s team can‘t. Yes, it’s early but not too early to be concerned.

BC played gritty and aggressive and deserved to win. We played sloppy and did not.

Hopefully. Just not fun to lose games like that one. An L is an L, and it’s not the end of the world, but it’s always frustrating to lose games because of poor baserunning and mental mistakes like letting a pop fly hit the ground because no one claimed it. Yuck.
