It matters what floats your boat. Some might like the athletic girl over a floosy type. It all goes back to one's definition. Yours is different than others.
Exactly my point. Beyonce is the definition of "a floosy type."(floozy) I personally don't find her to be that attractive. That picture with Candace and Beyonce below was what I was talking about. Compare Candace's smile to Beyonce's....then you might finally get my point. She's(Beyonce) plastic in my eyes. I like an athletic, tall, pretty, and ambitous girl. They don't have to Heidi Cloom(looks wise) for me to consider dating. The models that I have met(albeit young) havn't impressed me much in the personality department. I'm 19, my taste in women doesn't consist squarely upon the drop dead gorgeous.
Yeah, it sucks so bad that people will still be reading it en masse 200 years after you're dead.
Every author of note that's been alive since it's release will disagree with you.
Personal preference fellas. Easy. Easy.
I will say the movie with Redford wasn't bad.
I mean I easily read 30 books that are much better on my morning walk in the mountains. The book is good compared to books in the same genre. Out of that genre it's average, to sub-par. So why would I downgrade?
I'm willing to bet the authors of whatever books you are talking about would trade in all their past works to be able to publish something under their name that is equal in quality to The Great Gatsby.
Exactly. Conversely, I don't see Beyonce dreaming of trading in her Jimmy Choos, Vera Wang and Gulfstream for a pair of Nikes, a WNBA jersey and commercial airliners.I'm willing to bet the authors of whatever books you are talking about would trade in all their past works to be able to publish something under their name that is equal in quality to The Great Gatsby.

Well, calling Nick jealous doesn't make too much sense, but I don't really feel like turning this board into a book club.
Simple: He was jealous of all the wealth around him. He moved to NY to make a buck and was still in the bad part of town or the lower society West Egg (I think). He was jealous that he wasn't rich and living on East Egg.
