The Official Chicago Cubby Bears Thread

I honestly don't agree. I think y'all could conceivably take all 3 in Chicago and come back to New York up 3-2

The reason I say so is I don't trust the Cubs' starting rotation enough to allow their best pitcher to lose. As I said earlier, Lester has pretty much become an automatic loss, and I have zero faith in him winning anymore.

It's better in that this is a 7 game series instead of 5, but I really don't want to get down 2-0 with Arrieta getting one of the losses.

The lineup for tonight is......

1.Fowler CF
2.Schwarber LF
3.Bryant 3B
4.Rizzo 1B
5.Castro 2B
6.Coghlan RF
7.Monteto C
8.Baez SS
9.Arrieta P

Really hard to optimistic about the series anymore. Cubs can't hit jack and their best pitcher was beaten soundly.

Looking like the Mets in 5.

I still think the series goes back to NY. Now I'm thinking that it could go back 3-2 Mets, though. Until tonight's game, I expected 3-2 Cubs.

Jacob deGrom is 0-2 in 3 career starts vs. #Cubs w/ 6.46 ERA, 1.70 WHIP. At Wrigley, deGrom is 0-1 in 2 starts, 7.20 ERA, 1.70 WHIP.

Only the Cubs could get the third out and still give up the go ahead run.

So disappointing how badly the Cubs are being outplayed.

This series is over. Cubs going to get embarrassingly swept.

And take the freakin ball off the scoreboard.

The silver lining is we lost the 1st game last series, and reeled off 3 straight. Harvey was nasty tonight, so its hard to be too critical of the bats.

So far(postseason) the youngsters have played like the stage don't matter. Hooefully that continues and they can touch up whoevers next. And I can't wait to see Arrieta tom. My gut says 1 run for the good guys might do it.(more would be great tho)

This dude is an idiot.

The real aggravation to me is the inability at the plate. I have believed all yr that next yr(at best) but likely 2017 would be our yr, but the end to the season and start to the playoffs got me

The lack of offense is so frustrating.

I'm not sure I want to even bother watching tomorrow. I have very little faith this team responds; they have no life left.

You'll want to at least watch the first inning. Matz has some real troubles in the 1st. Might consider moving Soler up in the lineup. I know it's absurd to move Schwarber, but if you go Fowler-Soler-Bryant-Schwarber-Rizzo, you could theoretically knock Matz out in the 1st inning.

Who gets the blame this time ? The goat ? Bartman ? Anyway it was a good run Cub fans -- knocking STL out was great
