Man, I really enjoyed that game and series lol. Another engineer at work who was a State grad was giving me hell all week leading up to that series. Hadn’t heard him talk much baseball with me since.

Not sure why they would be talking smack leading up to that series. They went from winning the CWS to being the worst team in the conference and not even making the SECT 🤣

This year is about pitching IMO. Beamer certainly, has proved it over the past 2 years. I'm looking forward to seeing AJ Russell this year, I think he will earn a weekend spot. But who will emerge as a stud that we haven't heard from in the past? That's what makes this exciting.

VFL Jared Dickey wore #17 for the Vols and is a current member of The Kansas City Royals organization.

I had never seen that. Thanks for sharing.

Also, I love being right.
He had some amazing stats and stories of how they made decisions. In the decade preceding the 2002 draft, the A’s organization’s data showed that they had split their draft picks 50/50 on college/HS. That same data showed that their college baseball prospects, reached MLB at over 2x the rate of kids they drafted out of HS. Based on that alone he decided they would only draft college players that year.

That really makes sense…..unless the HS kid is a real superstar.
