How did Gibbs originally go to Georgia Tech?

He was out of Dalton, GA, which doesn't typically produce elite skill players. Big schools tested the waters with him late, but he was doubted by most because of the level of competition

ETA: I could tell he was special when we played him against Bama last year.

That’s essentially going for the win there.

You get it: you can win the game with the TD that you already need get to tie it.

You don’t get it: you have to go for two again after scoring the TD that you already need to get to tie it, and odds are slightly higher of getting a single 2 point conversion on two attempts than on only 1 attempt.


Not that I agree with it, but I at least see where they were coming from.
