The Official Detroit Lions Den Thread

Choosing to root for this team every day is actively choosing to root against joy and happiness, because it never comes. This team is managed by morons. Bring on 4-12.

And Jesus guys, PLEASE stop acting like Stafford will ever be great.

Alright let's not panic. Yes, losing the best DT in the game always hurt and you can't replace that production. But for the first time in about five years we have legit cap space. We can improve the O-Line, get a second CB, and add some depth at LB. Let's see what happens.

Not panicking, just recognizing a couple things: 1. This team was very lucky last season. 2. Even if they resign Fairley, can you get a full season out of him? 3. Does anyone really believe that the Lions will sign a top-flight CB after ignoring the position for the last decade?

I agree with what you are saying, could be a blessing in disguise for the Lions. It just sucks because he was the face of the franchise along with Megatron and my favorite player.

I also have a hard time trusting a GM that bungled this situation as badly as he did.

He made a bad decision letting Watt and McCoy set the market.

But honestly...even then...I have a hard time faulting him. I just don't think giving a 28 year old DT a six year contract for $100M with our current cap is a smart investment.

Now, you know what was really ****ing stupid? Not picking up Fairley's option for the fifth year. That was stupid.

I hope your wrong.
I think we finish second behind the packers in our division and possibly make the playoffs.

Considering how lucky we were last year and we lost the best DT in football, I just don't see it.

The O-Line will be better, and the defense will still be above average, but I'm just not seeing a good year.

I'm thinking 6-10.

Hope I'm wrong

Darius Slay looks excellent.

Laken Tomlinson looks like a legit NFL Guard.

Corey Fuller is stepping up. More Golden Tate in the slot is a good thing.
