The fastest and most physical team we have played this year by far. We have got to find a way to run misdirections and screens to use their speed against them.

im confident in our d. our offense just needs to show up for 60 minutes. we should be running plays with a mindset we need to score like the lsu game. let riggs run a lot. mix in with some good passes. not the usuall fall on the line and let the defnese win crap.

I have been thinking about the matchups in this game. I really think our defense can stop their run. This game may very well come down to the QB play on both sides. Thoughts?

I say another classic defensive war, i just dont see our offense doing anything and i dont think georgia will do much with our defense. It might me another florida game the team with the least mistakes wins

If that's the case, I feel really good about our chances......We got one of the best QB's in the nation....Intelligence wise

Like I said...Intelligence....So what if he don't have the arm that Ainge has? He makes smart decisions with the ball and don't turn it over....He takes what the defense gives him...We'll need that this weekend...A turnover could change the whole game....Just like in 2003, I believe it was when we fumbled inside the 1 and they took it back for a TD right before half...I feel good about our chances this weekend if it comes to QB play

The problem with this isn't necessarily that we need 15 or 50 yard passing plays to win. But we DO need the threat of those plays to pull the defensive backs away from the line of scrimmage and soften up the coverage. As it is, teams can stack the line and play tight coverage because there's no threat of getting burned. If we could stretch the field a little, you better believe that Riggs would really look the stud, and there would be a lot more room to run after short completions.

Agreed . . . We haven't hit a deep ball since the UAB game.

I know Ainge hit one or two. Can't remember whether Clausen hit one or not. The maddening thing is that it's been there and we haven't been able to deliver the ball.

its like a 35o engine running 1 notch out of timing...somethings wrong and you can just barely hear it

Maybe that's been exactly what Coach Sanders has been doing all this time, getting all the db's to cheat up to the line of scrimmage so we can bust a long one. While Erik has a stronger arm he hasn't been able to hit the receivers on deep patterns. I think Rick will suck them in and then throw one over their heads...

UGA will have about 8 or 9 on the box the whole game! This game is ricks to win, he has to make plays down the field!

This game should be a battle. Let's hope the vol fans can get fired up for the biggest home game of the year.

Agreed, its gonna take consistency and a lot of heart to battle in this one. Granted yes a couple deep balls earlier in the season would help us, but all its gonna take is ONE early on in this game to change how Georgia views our passing game, therefore opening up a bit more for those short Dink n' Dunk passes, quick screens and Riggs for where ever he choses to run it.

I know alot of people want big plays down field, however lets think about getting first downs, run blocking will be key for our offense and our backs need to run with the attitude of I'm going to steam roll you, get out of my way. :superman: I want to see Rob Smith and Cody Douglas and Albert Toeniana pancake blocks and drive the defensive lineman into the ground. It's time to play some smashmouth football.
Now on Defense, let's get an AL Wilson attitude and knock someone into next week. I want to see Bulldoggies flying to the ground and landing on their backs. I want our linebackers like Omar Gaither to decleat someone. Make them remember you for as long as they live, the way we hussle and the way we knockum down, down field. If we play by the Generals golden rules, we will win the ballgame. Final score Tennessee 16, Georgia 10.

Dont know about you guys but I am giddy this week and am having a hard time doing anything. Work has got me in Atlanta this week training so I have to find some time to sit back and reflect on this weekends game. As usuall I think it will be a great game and can't wait to see how our team handles a good defense. Lets get it on and have a good injury free game.

I have seen every georgia game this year. In the South Carolina and Mississippi State games it appeared as if all they can do is run. Their passing was pretty ineffective against mediocre competition. As for stopping their run, we kept LSU (who according to some publications have the best running game in the country) to 98 yards. Personally i dont think Ware and Brown are on the same level with Addai (LSU). We've only allowed 66.1 yards a game which is 4th in the nation. I still think it will be a good game but not as close as most are saying.

I think it's safe to say that the jury is still out on DJ Shockley. He throws a good deep ball and is dangerous outside the pocket, but I don't think he has quite proven himself to be one to pick apart a defense from the pocket.

Personally, I think UGA would be a lot better off this year to get in the I and just pound the ball.

Dont forget we have probably the deepest OL in the Country to help those two out and you have to respect Shock running the ball aswell. Going to be a great one guys. We will have to play our best ball of the year to win this one but you never know.

It will be a hell of a game. great ga OL and great Tenn DL. Great Ga running game and great Tenn rush defense. I think its going to come down to if our offense decides to show up.
