The Official Hofstra @ Tennessee Series Thread (Fri. Feb 14 4:30PM EST) (Sat. Feb 15 2PM EST) (Sun. Feb 16 11AM EST) (All games on SECNET+)

When is the first pitch on Saturday? Utsports dot com has it at 2pm in one place (the calendar) and at 4pm in another (Gameday info and the story published yesterday). Same confusion on Sunday. Both 11am and noon are published as start times.

Comcast Xfinity...

Fought for weeks with them to reconnect all the SECN+ programming to the sports app C button etc. to no avail, BUT….

Hit ON DEMAND, over to SPORTS, scroll almost to the bottom to APS, click on the WHITE ESPN tile and start looking for the UT vs stuff icons most any sub line but for sure scroll down to Channels and click on SECN+ icon. That has not missed yet.

The old voice SECN plus route will not work,

My takeaways from the game experience today:
Not much of a change in general. Just a lot of exposed steel.
New student section looked fun and was full Very encouraging.
Couldn't buy anything on the deck behind the student section under construction
No change to restrooms that I could tell, anywhere.
Sound system is from the outfield and not near as loud as when coming from the old press box...maybe a little subdued.

This is the biggest shrug from my group around me:
We were looking for some sort of ceremony or pump-up video about the Natty...and almost nothing. Last year's introduction and entrance of the players when taking the field had more flair. We thought we might see/hear Wilkerson's call on the final CWS out and It's Baseball Time in Tennessee, but nothing that I recall. I'm fine with it but it seems an opportunity lost. You don't win a Natty every year.

No walks today either. The Frank Anderson effect.

That’s the stat of the day to me. I don’t think it’s unfair to say Hofstra wasn’t very good today. Our play in the field could’ve been better I think, but it’s game 1, so kind of to be expected, looking forward to seeing things going forward.

We definitely have some tweaking to do as far as the infield goes. Guys hurt with some lingering injuries can play havoc if we don’t get everyone healthy.

Another observation about today’s game: even though it was a lesser opponent, our plate discipline was very good today. Rarely did anyone take a bad swing. If this team can stay away from a high number of strikeouts and make great contact, I think this offense can be elite.
