The official "I was wrong" thread.

I gave Dools the benefit of doubt way to often. Watching BJ embrace UT as the great school that it is, makes me angry that Dools didnt take advantage of it the way he should have.

This!

Being a Saban disciple I feel like Dooley came out with a take it or leave it attitude like Saban has at Alabubba. Dooley just didn't have the credentials to do that, plus recruits were seeing the roster simply wasn't what it should be. If Dooley had embraced past players, had the open door Butch has, I think things would have been different. If Dooley had shown the love CBJ has it would have been different. BUT back to the question of the OP? I thought Dooley would figure it out.

Most if's I have ever seen in a post...

If Cut had been here to slap the siht out of Bray I honestly think he could have been a real quarter back and a Heisman contender. He saved Ainge when he came back on board from MS.

This copied from an ESPN article...
"Ainge's transformation began during the offseason, when Cutcliffe told the quarterback to lose his earring, cut his hair and dress more appropriately. Cutcliffe also wanted Ainge to start acting like a team leader".

Good coaching is like Brylcreem, a little dab will do ya.

Bray has the physical attributes but is lacking between the ears. Cut could and would have fixed that,

I was wrong when I initially joined VN with a screen name that started with an expletive followed by Florida (apparently that is frowned upon). I was wrong when I thought UT beat LSU (and for the hour long whiskey-induced tirade and subsequent blackout that followed, seriously- I don't know where the next 3 hours went). I was wrong when I made my current screen name (no expletive included). I was wrong when I bought the orange pants (but not so much for burning the Kiffen visor).

I was also wrong when I said UT should have done better with the last search instead of settling with hiring Jones.
You're safe with us. Just let it all out.

I used to wonder what Cutcliff could've done with bray had he still been with the vols. then it became clear that bray only listens to bray...

Cutcliffe would have successfully transformed Bray into a consistently productive quarterback . . . or he would have benched him. Ainge was an absolute basket case after the 2005 season and Cutcliffe worked wonders with him. For those of you who don't remember, take a look at the dramatic difference in his statistical productivity from one season to the next:

2005: 66-145-5. 45.5%. 737 yds. 5 tds.
2006: 233-348-9. 67.0 %. 2989 yd. 19 tds.

this is stupid, with good coaches and a good head on his shoulder, he absolutely had the talent to be up for the Heisman. Hell, after Week 1, he actually was on the finalist list. Now we all know his head was, well no one knows where his head was, but it wasnt in the right place, but he definitely has the talent

And if I had a billion dollars UT's AD wouldn't have money issues, but I don't and he doesn't. No amount of coaching up can cure that. That has to be done by the player.

Guys I think the whole Bray thing is being blown out of proportion. The Bray thing was only an example of an "I was wrong"...it wasn't meant to start an uproar over the guy.

That being said, I was never wrong... about anything. Nor am I ever.
