Women's college basketball - North Carolina Tar Heels freshman Diamond DeShields decides to transfer

This is a article in ESPN right about the time she announced she was leaving UNC in April 2014. It's a good article but there are three things that are slightly concerning:

1) The picture of her taunting the crowd. I can't see HCHW allowing this type of behavior, even if the opposing crowd is hostile. Winning is the best comeback.

2) "And Coach Hatchell's going to allow us to do those things without trying to change us or make us into a different type of player." I think Voepel does a good job in the article showing why this might not have been the most mature thing to say.

3) On leaving early for the pros: "If that was an option for women, I could see myself doing that," Could this mean we only have her for two years and not three?

I realize that this interview occurred when she was a frosh, so the maturity level will most certainly have increased, and perhaps she would say some things differently today.

Nonetheless, this season is going to be VERY exciting with DD on the team.

Sigh. Drama, drama.

She isn't taunting the crowd in that picture; she is signalling to a teammate. There IS a picture of her 'yawning' as she is standing in front of them (that isn't the picture, even though that is the caption for it). That's not exactly taunting (let me rephrase that: it's not even CLOSE to taunting), as her back is turned to them. And ummmmm it's the Cameron Crazies ... and ummmm she played for UNC. And UNC won that game at Duke and she scored almost 30 points.

It's not a secret at all that Diamond may very well only play two seasons in the same manner Candace did. That isn't news.

I am proud to call her a Tennessee Lady Vol whether it's 2 years or 3.

In the 2014 ACC Tourney, a game UNC lost to Duke: "DeShields committed a technical foul for taunting Haley Peters after hitting a jaw-dropping step-back 3 with 8:08 left, one of a series of small mistakes that proved costly when Duke pushed ahead late."

So the emotions will need to be controlled.

survived another trip to the ER,,, :(

Starting to get really down over this health thingy.

My advise for you young snappers, DON'T EVER WAIT TO GET REAL MEDICAL CARE. I did for years and it has come home to roost.

We are. Hope Boxer and ivy make it too, want to read every one's impressions. I can't judge, hard to tell when they are playing each other or the guys.

Hey small. I'll be there for sure. Im not sure then CN game will tell us much, maybe except for how our defensive intensity looks. I think we will be even better than last year on defense. Except this year we should have a much more explosive offensive punch to go with a really good d. Intrigued to see this new offensive look as well.

I want to see how Kourtney plays defense, quicker reaction, faster lateral moves, etc. I just can not tell when they practice just how, if any, she has changed. I know CN will not challenge the Ladies, but it will be an unknown for Kourney and I hope gives us a better read as to her progress. Also hope to see Te'a and Draya playing without those knee braces. Probably still be on, but can always hope:).

And speaking of....anything worth mentioning happen around July in your household? Or am I confused?
