The Official I'm tired of waiting and want to see some Lady Vols Basketball Thread

Tell Nia "Gule says Hi!" She's my fav! :)

I wanted to, but it's like Holly has a wall around them:unsure:this year. I'll yell at her during the game for you. I did last year...told her to play for gule. She heard me too:).

I want to see how Kourtney plays defense, quicker reaction, faster lateral moves, etc. I just can not tell when they practice just how, if any, she has changed. I know CN will not challenge the Ladies, but it will be an unknown for Kourney and I hope gives us a better read as to her progress. Also hope to see Te'a and Draya playing without those knee braces. Probably still be on, but can always hope:).

And speaking of....anything worth mentioning happen around July in your household? Or am I confused?

You are just a bit off small. We had our first baby boy in late May, so you were close lol. He is a handful, but he loves our boxers. Still gotta be careful around them because they are so hyper. The boxers love him though. We are thinking about getting a smaller breed that can interact with him more as he gets a little older, pug maybe?? Looks like I might be able to get away from fatherly duties to come watch the Ladies play for a couple hours...But I'll be taking the night shift if the lil feller wakes up to eat or needs a diaper change lol..It's a give and take kinda thing haha.

I'm also excited to see Dunbar's improvement. From what little I saw of her in the Cameroun game, she looked really good. Rebounded well, and shoots such a pretty ball. She gets herself open too, has great court awareness and another thing I noticed about her is that she rarely turns the ball over. Speaking of which I hope Middleton has worked on her ball control. She could be a pretty good player if she can control her turnovers.

Cooper is one that really excites me. Seems like there is so much untapped potential there. She has so much talent, but she is so unselfish with the ball, has great court vision and easily finds the open players. Doesn't take very many low percentage shots that I've seen.

Sadly, I can't be there. I live a couple of hours from Knoxville, and I have an early meeting Tuesday morning. The first game I can make it to this season will be the Texas game, which I am really looking forward to (although that game better have a better outcome than last year's Texas game or I will be highly disappointed).

Who's Ruth Hamlin? Aw, don't bother answering; ESPN has been tripe for years:p.

Hope you are feeling better.

Congratulations boxer:clapping::clapping: La Grande Dame is very loving towards her new pack mate:). The two pits are funny; the female worries herself sick and watches closely; the male could not care less. A small dog would be great, just need to be careful that a toddler doesn't hurt one. We've always had poodles...as you can tell by my small vol avatar.. No problems with kids around them, just supervise closely.

Hope you make the game. Anxious to get some intelligent input re the Ladys. Expect Cannon, Raider, and others will be there so the critiquing (not criticizing:bad:) wil make for interesting reading.

Sorry you're missing it, ivy. Hope they do us proud against UTjr.

They flew to Colorado or Washington and got some legalized Weed because Izzy (at 6'3") dominated the 6'6" Hamblin with a stat line of 20pts, 12 Rebs (6 of them were offensive) and 5blks and Izzy didn't commit a foul that game compared to Hamblin's stat line of 8 pts, 12Rebs (only 2 were offensive) and 2Blks and she fouled out, it should also be noted she (Hamblin) was scoreless in the first half. She had 3 inches over Izzy and didn't have one free throw attempt. Izzy was one of the top Centers (she will more than likely play the 4 in the WNBA next season) in college and dominated Hamblin, this should be motivation to Mercedes (who by default is one of the Top 5 centers in College right now) and will be a force if she plays like she did on the Olympic stage and in London. The good thing is we get to see 6'6" vs 6'6" and see how it plays out in Oregon this season. My money is on Russell to finish the year as the top Center and in my order it will be 1.)Russell (Call Me a Homer), 2. Imani Boyette if she stays healthy (Formally Stafford- McGee the 6'7" Post from Texas) 3.) Alana Coates 4.)Adut Bulgak from Florida State 5.)Ruth Hamblin

No one will have Russell on a preseason Top 5 list. I have high hopes for her, but she needs to earn such accolades. Hamblin was a 3rd team AA last year. Russell had one mediocre year of college play (granted, she was not 100%), so she needs to show that she is an elite college player.

I'd have to agree. If she plays like she did over the summer, she will establish herself as the top center in the game. I'm ready to see how she does against a more physical post in Coates from SouthCarolina

Former All-American Parker & Ogwumike to Join Network for Select Games and Studio Appearances

New commentators on SEC Network

A bit of a confusing article for me. The line under the picture says: "Former All-American Parker & Ogwumike to Join Network for Select Games and Studio Appearances". But the body of the article says: "SEC Network will air more than 70 games in its second season, and welcomes new analysts longtime Georgia head coach Andy Landers and former Tennessee All-American and WNBA star Candace Parker."
