I reject the premise that Johnson isn't popular with social conservatives because he smoked weed.

It's because he's not a social conservative! He's not about God and family values. Weed ain't got nothing to do with it.

I laugh when people say others aren't pro-family. WTF does that mean? What politician is pro-family? They obviously don't spend much time with them or care that their lives will suck.

Yep - it's absurd. Same as politicians who say they are "for the working man" or "the middle class".

The sooner we acknowledge that the "other side" might actually care about the same things as us but just have different views on how to get there, the sooner we can debate issues and not people.

I agree that they also reject him because he is areligious; however, what are 'family values'?

Gary Johnson is from the same hometown as Wiz Khalifa.

I don't know a lot about him, but I like much of what I've heard

One thing I do like about Huntsman is he doesn't strike me as a moral authoritarian, which distinguishes him from the other R candidates, except RP and Johnson (maybe Cain, too).

Since we are discussing what in the hell "family values" means, I thought this was appropriate:
