I am a football coach in the NC Public School System. I attended North Carolina's Spring Football Clinic with Larry Fedora. I have attended many clinics, including Tennessee in 2001 with Fulmer. Fulmer's clinic and practices were much more "laid back" than Fedora's. I was very impressed with Fedora and his staff! Their offense is no huddle, dynamic, and vertical in the passing game. The defense in a 4-2-5 and very attack oriented. He and his staff are on fire! This guy is good! I'm not saying he is my first choice, but I am saying this guy is on the radar, and I will go on record and say he would do very well at Tennessee.

As long as we do not bring back Cutcliff or Fulmer. I just do not undestand why anyone would want them back. They keep saying Cut has done good at Duke. They get blown out. In the ACC.

Yeah Fedora is good---I don't know if he's one of those mercenary types who would cut and run on a school ala Todd Graham but it'll be interesting to see how he rides out those sanctions at UNC. He did a great job at Southern Miss and has a little SEC coordinator experience. I think he'd be a guy on a lot of people's short lists.

I'd be very happy if we hired Fedora. Overlooked and underrated option.

I currently live in Gulfport, MS. Fedora had U of Southern Mississippi burning red hot while he was at USM. There was a good reason for him being hired away from the Golden Eagles - he is a really good coach. While Fedora was at USM, he was all Golden Eagles and everyone in Southern Mississippi loved the guy... and wish he were still here. The current USM coach still has many of Fedora's old players, but has yet to win a game this year.

I would not have a problem if Hart has Fedora on his list of prospects. He could do much, much worse.

Wow, very helpful inside information....
Actually it is inside, when you can "x and o" with the coaches and be on the sideline during practices. You see how they interact with the players and the structure of practices. Fedora's expectations are very high of the players- and make no mistake he is in their face when they don't perform!

These clowns laughed when i brought up Fedora and Sumlin last year. Some including myself know good coaches when we see it. I laugh at these threads. I guess he is a good hire now. :birgits_giggle:

Dude that's still not inside information. Maybe you got some training or learned something but what inside information did you bring to the board? Where are you a high school coach at? School name

He is probably a good coach don't see a lot from him when it comes to recruiting. Just don't think he is what UT needs right now. He has only been at.UNC a year.now so I think we should pass on him. I like strong a lot.

I have coached in the Harnett County School System on both the middle and high school level for 25 years! What's the problem here? I'm just saying that in my honest opinion, I like the way Fedora does business as a coach. Have you ever stood in a huddle on the field and watch coaches operate?

this. CLF is on my short list if I'm the AD. He don't come with the "home run" label but I think he is underrated and would do a great job here at UT and will do well, as he has already shown, at UNC.

He would have been a homerun hire if it was during the replacement of Kiffin (instead of Dooley) because of where the program was at the time. We could have stood a "project" coach like that. Unfortunately this program can't take another work in progress coach, we need the big fish in order to climb out of the pit we are in. Who knows, we may not have a choice, and if that was the case, then Fedora would be a good, energetic hire, but I haven't heard much from him on the recruiting front, so that would be the biggest question mark-- recruiting in the SEC, and UT currently has little, if nothing to offer recruits, other than a fancy whirlpool, ipod dock, and good meals, playing time, a lot of uncertainty.......

Good for you, getting hung up on semantics, calling this guy out for stating his opinion. Why don't you go to the Rumors board and call out the "insiders" that actually don't have a f***ing clue what's going on and leave this guy alone. It's a message board for god's sake.

But can he recruit?????

yes, he is known for his recruiting as well. landed a 5 star at USM, can't remember the name. But, during his tenure at USM, they always recruited well. Of course, you can't compare it to SEC recruiting but among non AQ, USM was doing very well
