The Official Larry Fedora Thread I

What is wrong? This is Tennessee man. We aren't hiring a guy with that W/L ratio and 2 Bowl Wins. We've already experimented with second-tier coaches. That didn't work out too well did it..He's been at UNC 1 year and their a Basketball school. Not exactly the big time.

Comic relief is the best.

Spurrier won the ACC. With Duke.

When Fedora wins one with NC get back to me.

Fedora has them at 7-4 with a probable win against UVA to finish 8-4 and to be tied for the ACC Coastal Division lead. Not bad for a program who's had three head coaches in two seasons and is under NCAA sanctions (postseason ban).

At least he does have a wiki page...

Larry Fedora - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not a lot on there but this stuck out....

He summed up his philosophy with a quote from George S. Patton--"Instead of waiting to see what might develop, attack constantly, vigorously and viciously. Never let up, never stop, always attack.

Sounds like Majors. Attack, attack, attack!!!

Coach Fedora was my WR coach & OC in 01. Hes a high intensity, personal accountability kind of guy, and I loved him for it. Wouldn't be a bad hire at all, and the guys would definitely respect him. Idk if that counts as inside info. We also beat Vandy that year. So ya he could help us with that

We must've been at middle at the same time. We probably know a lot of the same people. I don't think fedora will be hired here but he is gonna be successful. The staff at north Carolina has ties with MTSU with Blake Anderson and Walt Bell. Bell is a young coach that will be a successful coordinator in the near future.

Good coach and should certainly be high on our 2nd list. I'd take him over Cutcliff, Fulmer, and Tommy Tupperware any day of the week.

This isn't a troll thread. And you didn't squash it. Fielding solid teams year in and out at Southern Miss is not an easy task. Go back to your Gruden shrine and keep praying.

Agreed - I find this thread interesting and think Fedora is a good realistic option. He did a great job to have consistently strong teams at So. Miss. The only thing I have a hard time believing is that he'd leave UNC after one year. It's an underrated job that could (arguably should) be a destination job. I'm sure he'll move on eventually if he keeps having success but i dont know if the timing is right. Nice info, OP.

I was a one & done walk-on... .spent most of my time on the exercise bike thanks to a previously undiagnosed injury. But I walked on with the intention of being around good men/leaders, as I myself had delusions of coaching at the time ha. And I feel like I succeeded in that regard & would consider Coach a great hire, buuuut.....don't think it'll happen, and I like everyone else would like to believe that the Grumors are true

I hear the Camden Lions high school football team has only lost two games in the past two years. Maybe we could look there as well. They seem to have a good coach
C'mon man. No offense, but some of you just don't get it. This program has to have a home run hire. We are down and with another project hire, that's where we will stay.
You herd that Fedora once got a five star recruit. Do you realize how many five star recruits Gruden, Stoops or Tressel (sp) would bring. Obviously some of you have been beat down by Dooley's coaching and recruiting. We are Tennessee and we don't want or need some half successful high school coach whose claim to fame is a one time five star recruit whose name no one remembers. We need greatness to revive this program! Federa is a big he!! No

I'd rather have Fedora then Strong any day. But he's not leaving Carolina after one year. Once again, not every coach is Kiffin.

If we go Fedora, we might as well go Mullen or Franklin. Good coaches but not the impact hire our program needs.
