The Official Larry Fedora Thread I

That's great news.

Rocky, one question I have is this. I have watched a few UNC games, but it seems like Fedora doesn't really use a mobile QB. Is that how it always is, or does he do like the Saints/Buckeyes do and just use a run game based out of the shotgun?

His time at usm he did. Austin davis (who is 2nd string behind bradfotd for the rams). He recruited ricky lloyd, and arsenio favor who both can scramble. He wants a pass first QB though. He does run alot out of the shotgun, because of the hurry up offense. If he were to come here i see him doing no huddle offense, but not necessarily "hurry up". Sorta like what we done a little this year.

I would like to see some pistol.

So if Bray stayed, Fedora would have no problem implementing his offense with him then?

Absoltly not. Bray is his dream QB "gunslinger".

Fedora likes to mix it up anyway he can, try and callalot of audibles and checks before the snap to confuse the d. He is a big fan on running the qb/rb read option, but he will have no problem excluding that.

I know he is very adaptable. He doesn't limit his offense to one or two things. It's why I like him.

I just hope he gets the job. I really think he can do great things at UT. He also brings some needed energy to UT.

Even though Strong looks pretty likely I'd still love for this to happen. As good as this year's offense was it feels like Fedora can have success with pretty much any QB. I'd be excited to see what he could do in Bray's fourth year or Peterman's first, depending on that situation.

Would you like to join the bandwagon, good sir?

I was on the bandwagon as of last week but I had semi-abandoned it because it looked like Fedora would be staying and Strong was our next head coach. Regardless of what happens, I like Fedora a lot.

I believe Hart's two top choices are Gundy and Strong at this time ith Fedora at No3 in case they say no. But with both Strong and Fedora still new at their current jobs it might be hard to pry them away. Gundy and Fedora did serve on the same team together at one point.

The talk here in the Raleigh area is that Fedora's silence indicates that he is interested in the Tennessee job, but he is behind Gundy and Strong and he doesn't want to have "ill will" with the UNC family. If Gundy and Strong withdraw then Fedora will step up his desire with Tennessee and emerge as a real possibility-we shall see what happens. Fedora is a really good coach-he would do very well at Tennessee.

I would rather have Fedora over Strong or Gundy (or any of the other "candidates" that have been listed as realistic).

Gotta admit, I'd LOVE to have JG as our HC.
But if that aint' gonna happen, and Butch Davis and Jim Tressell have too much baggage, I'd be happy with Fedora.

I think it is not a huge stretch to say that events today could elevate him to UT's number one option. It will be very interesting too see what goes down in the next few hours.

I've liked this guy as the darkhorse since the NC HS coach posted about him. Unfortunately with all the media reports for Strong and then what looked like Strong turning us down its going to look like a disappointing hire to the fan base and those outside. Not that its a bad hire, it will just have the perception to a lot of people.

Erik Ainge is coming around on Fedora. He had been on the Butch Davis train for a while. Maybe his guys told them we were getting a coach from UNC and he picked the wrong one. :)

I would take Fedora over Strong. Fedora is not known to have "bag men" on his staff. UNC is alot closer to playing SEC ball than UL is.
