Butch Davis did this at UNC a couple years ago and got a $291,000 raise with a 4-8 record (under a different AD).

With an 8-4 record, could be a legit move.

I hope we keep him 3-4 years, but not if he's such a dick that he'd bolt after 1 season. If so, we're better off without him (not sour grapes, reality).

I don't see new money on the horizon, but maybe after 2 winning seasons. Could parlez this into an extension of his contract, more dough for his assistants. Facilities are now top notch.

Clay Davis is reporting that local Arkansas radio is reporting they've hired Mike Gundy. (Sorted my timeline wrong ... that was old)

No worries. Gundy gone. I cant visit the strong thread, against my religion. Whats the latest on him?

Per Adam Himmelbach Louisville and Strong are working on renegotiating Strong's contract now with the help of Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs LLC..

I hope that is true, I do not want Strong

Fedora is rock solid. I don't see him as an option ,because I don't see him leaving UNC after one season. How bad would that make us look since Kiffin left us after one season.

Seems as though Strong is not officially out yet (i.e. the extension isn't done).

I have to think if Fedora really is on UT's list that they will act very quickly to tie him up if Gundy and Strong are out.

... or they're hiring Gruden :)

I counter that fedora is exactly the kind of acoh you need right now. An aggressive young coach who wants to prove himself and will do everything he can to make tennessee succeed.

Fedora is a good coach. He was just not our first choice, although maybe he should have been. He might even be the best coach of the 3, between strong and gundy. Only time will tell.

Fedora is a winner. Has experience at two Upper-D1 schools as OC (including UF) and won as a HC at Southern Miss and did a pretty good job at UNC at least holding that program together.

Well, that and he's not a lawyer.
