I hope Jay Johnson does direct deposits to Paul Manieri’s account every 2 weeks for leaving him a championship roster of juniors last year.

They won the CWS when Skenes went there. Put him on any CWS team & they probably win.

Yes he put them over the top but they don’t come close to winning without the core Maineri left in Thompson, Crews, Morgan, Jobert, Dugas and Milazzo. It was apparent after the 2021 Super Regional that FR class was going to do big things over the career.

Just finished watching a recording of the game. Had to start it late. Hell of a performance by Beam. Huge tip of the cap. Gave up a lot of hits but gave up fewer runs than Holman who was electric all day. That’s big time. Let’s get that sweep!

I think you’re giving Holman too much credit. A no hitter is a no hitter but we absolutely barreled up some balls right at guys for the first 5-6 innings. He wasn’t inducing many swings and misses from a strikeout POV. We just couldn’t find many holes.

Glad we don’t have to play Texas A&M this year. Although that would have been a fun series. Kind of sucks we avoid both Arky and TAMU. Our schedule has been fairly favorable.

I never post when I’m attending games and haven‘t caught up yet but wanted to say “how about those BaseVols!” My thoughts after the first 2 games:
1) Amick could roll out of bed and barrel up the baseball. He was clutch both evenings. He will have a great MLB career.
2) Pitching is coming on strong. Very impressed by what I’ve seen on Fri and Sat.
3) Dreiling with another clutch hit and game winning RBI today. He’s a stud.
4) Burke is having a tremendous season both at the plate and on defense.
5) Great to see Kirby get the record that will never be broken. He’s one of a kind and we’re lucky to have him!
6) the crowd finally came alive today at key moments. Fullest I’ve seen LNS in my lifetime. The SRO folks are in every aisle and corner of the stadium. I’m not sure TV does it justice. Student section stepped it up today according to a trust sou4ce.
7) Vitello was super pumped after tonight’s win. You can tell he has no love lost for LSU or Jay.
