The Official Mike Trout Thread

Last night on sportscenter they said that it would take Trout 55 games to make what A-Rod makes in 1 game, A-Rod makes more in 3 games than Trout makes all year

his agent is acting like a lady though.

when will he become a free agent? after 2015?

Price is going to get $200M

Verlander will get $25M per season, but he won't get more than five years IMO.

Harper/Trout are so young, they might become the first $300M players.

Kershaw has to get paid at some point, too.

so are trout and harper slated to become free agents in the same offseason?

Bryce will be FA after 2018 season. Trout played enough in 2011 to count towards a service year I suppose

Ah, wondered about this. Trout almost wasn't a rookie last year so I wondered what that would do from 2011 service time or to his super2 status

I think Trout will be a Super 2 after this season. those rules are so weird.

Q: When does a player become eligible for salary arbitration?
A: A player with three or more years of service, but less than six years, may file for salary arbitration. In addition, a player can be classified as a "Super Two" and be eligible for arbitration with less than three years of service. A player with at least two but less than three years of Major League service shall be eligible for salary arbitration if he has accumulated at least 86 days of service during the immediately preceding season and he ranks in the top 22 percent (increased from 17 percent in previous agreements) in total service in the class of Players who have at least two but less than three years of Major League service, however accumulated, but with at least 86 days of service accumulated during the immediately preceding season.

I think Harper will hit super-two. Didn't do the numbers, but I remember the deadline for him not hitting super two was a lot later than when we brought him up.

I'll be honest, I get way confused/don't know as much as I should about arbitration/supertwo/waivers stuff.

harper won't hit super 2 after this year. he currently has .159 service years, so the most he can get after 2013 is 1.159. he'll be 13 days away from super 2.

i THINK that's how it will work
