The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Will Kyle Larson leave the 42 team and will Stewart Haas pick him up? Besides Matt, the other following drivers haven't resigned: Danica, Kurt, Kasey. Where will these drivers go? I think Kurt might get resigned. Matt will end up with Stewart Haas or HMS. If the latter, in the #88 or the #5.

HMS confirmed that Alex Bowman will indeed replace Jr in the #88 next year with Nationwide and Axalta returning.

Bowman?

Couldn't get anyone better?

Well he does have two full years of Cup experience (w/BK Racing & Tommy Baldwin) and was impressive last year in replacing Dale so I think its a good fit. I was worried that they may rush William Byron to the Cup side to early.

Time to pull the plug on the Brickyard 400.

The track doesn't suit the cars very well. I still get warm and fuzzy watching anything from IMS though.

Also don't be too harsh on the crowd size. The place holds 240,000, so a crowd of 80,000 is going to look like a ghost town.

Yeah but the 80,000 figure looks to be a stretch, and either way it's a terrible look to see a mostly empty place; especially when it's full for the Indy 500.

This has been a real crashfest. Feels like I'm watching Indycar at Texas, or even this year's Indy 500.

Indy is hungry this year it seems between this crap and the 500. I say again Nascar needs to drop Indianapolis from the schedule because its boring.

Pretty sure NASCAR intentionally held that yellow until after Kahne had crossed the overtime line, but it's just as well. No way they were cleaning that wreck up before it was too dark to race.

As much as I crap on the Cup races here I really did want to see the Captain get a win here, he deserves it as a car owner.

I know I've seen that look before...

What about a crowd of 35,000, which is what the crowd yesterday was estimated to be.

Bummer if it was that small. I suppose it's up to NASCAR and IMS to decide the future of the race.

IMS is my favorite sports facility on earth, so I hope they can attract as much stuff as possible.

I would be game for the road course.

IMS asked if the race could be scheduled on Saturday next year, because of concern the Colts could be scheduled a home game on the same day.

NASCAR said no.

They can change literally everything else about the sport, but they can't change the day of the race. I hope they have a torrential downpour on race day and every day for the next week after.
