The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I watched a race for the first time in Many years yesterday. My ice and I kind of got drawn into it. Chase Elliot seems interesting since I grew up watching his dad. I’m 35. Seems I’m part of the old guard now.

Chase is super talented. It's too bad, because he won't be remembered, due to NASCAR's dropping popularity.

I was talking last night to a guy about the popularity of the sport. When they took more races out of the south and spread them all over and tried to introduce it. And when you couldn’t touch other cars. It just seemed to lose its luster. Wonder if they try to bring it back more to the southeast and make it affordable for a family if it can pick some fans back up

Prediction for 2019. The G.O.A.T. wins comeback driver of the year, while winning 4 races and finishes 3rd in the championship. It leaves him 3 wins from 100.

Who is ready for the Rolex?

*Waves hand above head.*

I’m good for about 2-4 hours of viewing. Maybe more since I have weekends off now.

24 Heures du Mans I watch between 6-12 hours of coverage.

Pulling for:

Corvettes
Alonso
Corvettes
Mazda
Corvettes

In DPis pulling for the Captain and Alonso. I'm like you I support the Corvettes in GTLM and in GTD I support the Lambos. I'm kinda disappointed in the small full-time field in the GTD class.

Early but the Cadillac are again dominating, holding down 4 of the top five prototype positions with the first non-Cadillac is Penske's Acura in 4th.

I hate that they don’t show the manufacturer anymore on the scroll. Pretty much forced to keep a spotters guide on hand.

Mazdas junk again.

I know mazda loves to tout how much road racing they do, but if they are going to be this bad at this rung of motorsports I think they are wasting money. I would like to see what they could manage as an engine supplier in Indycar.

I was worried that the LMP2s would be off the pace but Alonso and #23 team has been competitive. I still think though that IMSA should split the DPis and LMP2s into separate categories in the future.
