The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Where to start.

Super speedway racing is stupid and extremely watchable.

The current playoff format is stupid and very exciting.

Nascar has legislated out anything that could be considered dull for the sake of entertainment. It’s fun, but it means I don’t take the series seriously but I watch every race.

Races getting strung out can get dull and double file restarts are exciting. NASCAR decides to guarantee no fewer than 3 double file starts at every race. Again, nascar says excitement>purity. I’m here for it, but it means I hold the championship in high regard. It does a relatively poor job of confirming who was the best driver/team that season.

Now if you’ll excuse me, there are some kids on my lawn and I need to shout at them.

Shake your fist at them. That always works.

This is big for me. One of the best things about attending a race live is being able to watch how you want to watch, not what NBC/FOX tell you to watch.

I might be doing 4 screens on Sunday. Nascar TV, IndyCar, titans game, and bubba Wallace/KyBu in-car.

Great move for RCR. Bad move for JGR.

Can’t let a talent like Kyle slip away when he has so much left in the tank

I mostly agree and I obviously like Kyle. He's 37 though, I don't know how much longer he'll race (he does have 5 years on Hamlin and Truex though, which should probably be the main concern for JGR). He has only won 4 races the last 3 years though, and only 1 more than Bell the last 2 seasons (3 vs 2).

Obviously he's still super talented. The one thing I find interesting is that there is still no confirmation on sponsorship (which is going to be the downfall of NASCAR).

Kyle taking Reddick’s ride in the #8. I wonder if RCR is chartering a 3rd team for Reddick’s final season or tell him to kick rocks.

Reddick is a talented driver but RCR struck gold getting Kyle. They haven’t had a driver of his talent since Harvick. Kyle will be highly motivated since JGR kicked him to the curb for the grandson.
