The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Kyle taking Reddick’s ride in the #8. I wonder if RCR is chartering a 3rd team for Reddick’s final season or tell him to kick rocks.

RC made it clear he'll be in a RCR car next year and they have a 3rd charter lined up. Remains to be see if they are going to lease one for a year or buy one and start a 3rd team permanently.

Would love to see some retired legends come and race at Wilkesboro on all star weekend. Either in a legends race or even select a few to run in the all star race with the regulars.

I think I saw Dale Jr will be eligible for the All-Star Race as is Jimmie Johnson.

What’s the appropriate penalty for this?

I personally say you sit him out a race. I feel like NASCAR doesn’t take crew safety as seriously as they should, so they will probably fine him.

If one, then both. Looks like the exiting car initiated contact and then a retaliation occurred. This must have been the Saturday race as I don't recall this yesterday?

The penalty will be nothing. It's Gibb's grandson. He has a golden ticket to do whatever he wants.
They may fine the team Owners Points (which means nothing since that team isn't in the running for a championship anyway).
A monetary fine is also a joke to someone with as much money as Gibbs.
If they make him sit out a race, it also means absolutely nothing since he doesn't race for points in the Cup Series so missing a race that he wasn't scheduled to run is no big deal.

I’ll be labeled a heretic, but I think the drivers would do very well to organize. They had concerns about the safety of the car going into the season. They turned out to be justified in their concerns.

Wishing Bowman a speedy recovery.

I really don't want to say this, but I think it's going to take another fatality for nascar to get its act together and listen.

Not only are the cars way too stiff, all these fires that keep happening are way out of control.

I just keep thinking about Newman's wreck at Daytona, with all the fuel leaking out if it was the new car it would've been a massive inferno.

Nascar will never admit they screwed up, and here lies the problem. It’s going to take months to get this fixed based on the supply chain I have seen. If they start changing clips, because the front and rears bolt on, no one can get one before they are available for everyone. Now, if there were multiple companies making the clips, or each team making their own, it would be a different story. They are stuck in a box until the end of the year, unfortunately. Personally, I wouldn’t get in one of those cars. Someone is probably going to get seriously injured, and it will be NASCAR’s fault.

I would love to see harvick or Hamlin say I’m not racing this weekend.
